Question about Uniden Phones

Uniden DSS7855+1, flashing ''welcome! please wait...'', wont work

Hi experts- we have the Uniden DSS7855+1 5.8 gig cordless base station with two handsets.
After a power failure last night the base station flashes the ''Welcome! please wait'' message and provides no other service or connection.
The handsets consequently do not work also.
I have read other responses to those that this has happened to- power failure followed by welcome message flashing and no service- and no one has an answer apart from Uniden telling them to BUY another base station.
This seems dodgy/shonky to me.
We have had plenty of power failures before, but not this problem.
There are no reset buttons and, apart from disconnecting power and telephone lines, only the various input keys that don't work.
I would hate to think that Uniden would charge for another base station when there could be a reset code that could be typed in on the keypad or something similar.
Grateful for any assistance.

This is not a direct solution to your problem, but a workaround for a similar situation. I have two headsets and two charging stations. One of the headsets was stuck with the message ''Welcome! please wait''. When I put the phone on the charging station it usually sits on nothing would happen, but when I put it on the other station the phone came back to life. The non-working charging station will still charge the phone so it is worth keeping.

Hi I have a Cordless Uniden Dect 6.0 and also another one that sitts on a bitter base. My problem is this: the cordless with the smaller base shows the message 'Searching' and wont do anything,...

Welcome to FixYa.

Reset the units/set up by doing the following:
  • Turn OFF all the HANDSETS.
  • Remove the batteries of the HANDSETS.
  • Unplug the power source of the BASE.
  • Unplug the phone line of the BASE.
  • Let it stay that way for 30 mins.
  • Insert the battery again of the HANDSETS, make sure it is charged properly.
  • Plug back the power source of the BASE.
  • Plug back the phone line to the BASE.
  • Register any handset that is unregistered (refer to manual).

Keep me posted.

Your phone's owner manual can be downloaded from this location.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you out any further.

HEY, Just got DWX207 and it's not working. It's been charging for 48 hrs. and when you pick it up off base it is dead. I did push in the button on base firts. On base it flashes Welcome Please Wait

When you got it do you take the back off to make sure the battery is plugged into the phone? if yes! the phone clearly has a manufacture defect and should be returned.

My house phone keeps saying bs search and wont call out or recive calls

bs meaning of course - Base Station...

There is no link between your cordless set and the base station, hence the message.

I would do what SpencerR stated, try to re-establish the connection via the base station to accept the handsets again.

Have the cordless sets worked before?
It may just have a hick up, I would un-plug the base station and leave it un-plugged... now get all the cordless sets, and take out the batteries in the cordless set. Wait for about 15 seconds for all the power to drain out of the sets, and re-install the batteries.

Once all the cordless sets are back up and working, plug in the base station and wait for about 1 minute.
This forces the base station to re-establish and link to the cordless sets.

Good luck

Phone says ''Welcome ... please wait'' when you try to use it

Hi,

I tried to copy and paste the solution for this issue, but Fixya only allows so many charecters and I guess the answer is too long.
Go to http://www.uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat=1

and select the owner's manual for your model phone. Follow the procedures for deregistering the handsets and then resetting the base. then re-register the handsets and you should be good to go. It is all pretty easy, just a little to wordy for this forum I guess.

Press and hold "end" and "#" for more than 5 seconds this will de-register your handset without the base unit.
