Plug off the wall. Would be good to siphon out maximum water from inside the washer first.
The filter is in the front, remove 3 screws under the front panel, remove the filter cap by turning to the left. (Right of the filter is the pump motor.) To collect the water when removing the filter cap you need a wet vac or a good plastic garbage bag, there could be a lot. Clear out the junk. Replace as you dismantled. If you still have a problem, you have to check the pump to see if anything is clogging it. The cover twists off.

My whirlpool washer seems to be letting water back flow from the drain line.

sounds like the drain line is too low it needs to be higher than the water level when running a full load...you can check this buy filling with water and stoping the cycle and see where the water stops draining im sure it will stop at the level of your drain line in the back of the washer. the drain line in the back of your washer should come out of the bottom of the washer and then go up to a drain pipe..if its lower than the full water level of the washer then gravity will take over and drain the water... i hope this helps

Your machine is taking too long to drain. Check the outlet, pump inlet and filter for obstructions. Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Whirlpool washing machine wont stop all lights

Check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.

Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check this out.

While the machine is on press "end of cycle" for 3 seconds, then wait for 2 minutes to try the door. Try this again if it does not open, this is the child lock program - to lock and unlock; it is the same procedure.

Altus washing machine wont drain

HI, check the following to address this issue.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

3. Drain Filter
Check the drain filter for clogs as well. This filter can become clogged overtime, preventing the free flow to exit the drain tube. It is located inside the unit, mounted on the pump housing.

**The most common issue will be an obstructed hose or, line

NOTE-If the hoses filter, and pump check out ok, this will confirm that there is a serious within the actual control sector(Timer module or control board). It should be replaced i this case.

Machine does not wash just fill and drain

hI my name is joyce , you need to get a service tech to fix problem the machine has got a piece of trash in valve that controls the cut off of the water and its stuck. check the filter in the water line to make sure it is in good shape and has no trash in it, this usually happens when you are on well system with no filter on line.

Whirlpool Washing Machine AWM 029 is not draining

Hi.
I assume you have checked to see if the pump is working,
Select drain and spin, if water does not go away, then you have a pump problem, which will stop the programme completing.
Please leave feedback.
Thanks

Cleaning depends on use. 8 years is a bit over the top! When your water does not drain, check the outlet filter first, then the pipe from below the tub to the filter. Your washer wont spin 'cause the pump/filter is blocked.
