Question about HP Pavilion dv5000t Notebook
My laptop is a gateway 400vtx.
From time to time, I set my laptop to hibernate, but it does not go fully into hibernate mode.
What will happen instead is that the screen turns blue and it says," preparing to hibernate", but it never advances beyond that state. It will stay in this state the entire night and never hibernate!
Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening, or better still perhaps is a way to bring it back out of this mode without having to power down and lose all my data?
Unfortunately , hibernation issues are tough to pin down.
See this link
Basically says , meh could be anything.
One thing you can do to narrow it down is to go to Start > My Computer > RIGHT click on My Computer > click Manage > expand Event Viewer > Click on Applications and see if you have any Red ! around the time it was supposed to be hibernating.
If you see a message like "application hang" you can try uninstalling and reinstalling that particular app.
An easier way is to use a program called smart shutdown.
This program will kill any unresponsive programs and keep trying to hibernate until successful.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
