Not Showing the Other Person
Online Status
When one of your Skype contacts is not online, they will not show up in your list of available contacts.
It is possible to hold a conversation with someone who is not on your friend list, however; if you are trying to talk to someone you have previously chatted with but does not show up on your list of contacts, check to make sure that you have added the person.
All of your added contacts will show up on your list; the ones who are offline will have a grayed-out Skype icon and the contacts who are online will have a green icon next to their name.
If you cannot see the person's name, you may need to search for them and create a new contact.
Availability
Skype users have the option to change their availability when they are signed into the program. The status availability options are: offline, online, SkypeMe!, invisible, away, not available and do not disturb.
If the person you want to talk to is signed in but has selected the "offline" or "invisible" availability, you will not see them as online.
For the name to show up on your list of online contacts, the person must change their availability.

Blocked
If you cannot see a person that you have already added to your list, there is a chance that the person has blocked you.
When a Skype user chooses to block you, you will not be able to see anything about availability.
Even if the user is online and accepting messages, you will not be able to see the status and messages will remain undelivered.
Video
If you are trying to hold a video chat with a Skype contact but cannot see the person, there are several possible reasons.
If either of your Internet connections are too slow to support streaming video, the video will not come through.
If you have been chatting by text and switch to video, the other person will need to enable the video stream before you can see them.
Other culprits can include out-of-date webcam drivers, unplugged webcams or another video-enabled application running at the same time.
Share Both Screens in Skype
Sign in to Skype and right-click on the contact you want to share screens with.
Click "Call" to place a call to the user. When he answers, the Skype call toolbar will appear beneath his avatar.
Click the double square icon on the toolbar.
This is the share button.
Click "Show Entire Screen." Your screen is now visible.
Ask the other person to click on the double square icon and then "Show Entire Screen."

I use acer aspire 4551 and window 7 and my webcam not working.i cannot install driver because it said the devices is unrecognize.in devices manager not show imaging devices hardware.and only show unknown...

I went to the ACER website for your machine. It seems that there isn't really a "driver" per se associated with the webcam. There is a webcam application that must be installed however. Interestingly enough, there are three different applications available, as there appears to be three possible vendors for the webcam. It is possible you are trying to load the application program for a different vendor than your machine has.

Cut and paste the URL below into you web browser. Select the applcaitions tab. Download all three applications and see if one of them will load and recognize your webcam. Hope this helps!

I am unable to start my Webcam. It is showing Skype cannot connect to your webcam. Also while using cyberlink it is showing error. My laptop is Samsung R480. Win7

I am glad to HELP YOU!

Is it possible to get such errors because the webcam driver is outdated. A list of ALL YOUR DRIVERS on that Samsung R480 can be found HERE. Just get the driver for your webcam and it can be found under the SECOND LINK to right, marked DRIVERS [click on it].

As to START YOUR WEBCAM all you have to do is:
# START > ALL PROGRAMS and there you have to see a program called CYBERLINK YOUCAM
# click on it
# register by following the instructions [you will need a NAME and an E-MAIL ADDRESS]
# follow the rest of the instructions after the registration and from now on your webcam should be UP and RUNNING!

GOOD LUCK!

Crystal eye webcam

okay. first of all, everyone, are you sure that the webcam worked previously? if not it may be a dud. if it was working, try re-downloading the drivers for it and re-installing them. you might also want to see if the webcam shows up in your hardware list in windows (look on the control panel). if it doesn't show up on your hardware list, then the ribbon cable that connects the webcam to the rest of the laptop may be broken/unplugged.
