Nikon ML-L1 Tripod

D70 remote question

By Duke - usenet poster

The remote for the Nikon D70, ML-L3, is difficult to find, OR it has been
marked-up or bid-up to nearly twice its retail price.

The ML-L1 is also a remote control, however isn't listed in the Nikon
manual. There are some L1's on Ebay, & the sellers claim (Of course), that
they work fine.

Does anybody here have any experience with the ML-L3?

thanks much.

We used to carry a few for the P&S cameras, and had no problem getting
stock in. Now that it works on the D70, we've gotten 2 in during the
last 5 months.

Yes, it works fine. Bought mine from my local camera dealer (a real honest
place)
that sells it for $18.00 + tax. I wouldn't pay more than that for
one...they are made
in China, are just an IR shutter release, and are a real bear to open to
replace the
battery. (They don't go thru batteries or anything like that, I'm just
always tempted
to try stuff like that.) BTW--They do come with a little cloth case to help
keep them
from getting beat up in your camera bag or pocket.
