Sounds like your video cable between the motherboard and your LCD. Could be loose or bad.
Make sure to check you have updated drivers first and that you do not have any events being logged in event viewer.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

No display but ram and processor is okey..

1.Confirm the Gateway notebook is not powered off or in standby mode. Tap the power button to turn on or wake the computer.

2.Check the screen brightness. Hold down the "Fn" key, then tap the up arrow on the directional pad to increase the brightness of your Gateway 400's display.

3.Toggle the notebook display. If you have an external monitor hooked up to the laptop, hold down "Fn." Press "F3" until the display switches to the laptop, or until both the laptop and the external monitor display an active screen.

Dear conniejo10,
Since your expansion base setup sucesfuly, all you have to do is try to reconfigure your display properties, this is HOW:

Right Click On your Desktop>Choose PROPERTIES on contect menu>

the DISPLAY PROPERTIES Dialog Box now OPEN

Choose The SETTING tabs, Choose your additional Screen to come on, (it should be position on the '2' Screen when you click on it, the you adjust the resolution by sliding the display control or try to click the ADVANCE/SETTING buton the choose the ADAPTER tabs, the click the LIST ALL MODE button the you choose which resolution that fit your need and match the color mode (better to set to TRUE COLOR).
Then You just hit the apply button. Some hardware need to reboot but some don't.

You should see the two display are now come on at the same time as if you plug the AV out cable in on you expantion base or your Note book.

Good Luck!

Best Regards,

HP LCD Display problem

Right click your mouse button while at your desk top. Click on the settings tab, what is your screen resolution at. Try changing this by either going down or up. What is the Color quality at try changing this to 16 or 32 which ever one your not at. Check the display area what board do they have listed for you. Are there any other options. As you try and make these changes the background of your screen should change and you should be asked if you want to keep it or go back to what was before. It's just going to take some patience trying to correct this. What is the brand and model of your computer and what operating system are you using. You can go to HP site and download the display drivers four your unit. Just go to this link below. Go to support and drivers tab and put in your unit. Just copy and paste into your browser.
