First you have to format the memory stick in psp using the option format inside the psp and then put it in pc and then put the pics in the picture folder in the memory stick

it is fairly easy process. but one thing to make sure you have before starting is a memory stick. i don't know how some people don't have a memory stick but you need one to be able to save music, movies, game saves, pictures, and etc. etc....

connect your psp to your pc using the usb cables and put your psp in usb mode. once that is done (on your pc) go to MY COMPUTER> REMOVABLE DISK> (this would be the drive of your psp that is connected to your pc. you may have 2 or three different removable disk so choose the one that is your psp)> PICTURE. click on the picture tab to open it and keep it open for now. now find and select the pictures you want to import into your psp and copy them. and paste it into the picture folder you have open. thats it. to check them get your psp out of the usb mode. on your psp go to PHOTO> MEMORY STICK> and all the pictures should be there.

to set a certain picture as the background picture of your psp follow this step.

find the picture you want and press x to view it
press "triangle" to bring up a menu
press "x" on the "set as wallpaper" option
it will give you a message saying "do you want to overwrite the wallpaper?"
choose "yes"
press "O" circle to get out of menu
and finish.. thats it

Help, teach me to use my memory stick.

You will need to format your new memory stick before using it on your PSP. You can format any size Memory Stick Duo in the Sony PSP by doing this:
  1. Push the little HOME button on the bottom left of the face of the unit.
  2. Use the arrow keys to move to the SETTINGS area, then move the up and down keys until you get to System Settings.
  3. Once you are there, click on the "X" button and scroll up and down as needed to find Format Memory Stick. Click on "X" again to select that option.
  4. The Sony PSP will now confirm that you want to reformat the memory stick (which removes every file and game save thereon, of course): choose yes and it'll format in just a few seconds.
  5. You can now save games, music, and pictures or use it with the built in internet as memory

I can't download no music and pictures from my computer to my psp!

In order to play music in the PSP, the songs have to be in mp3 format other formats do not work with the PSP.If you do not have songs in mp3 format, you can download mp3 songs from www.beemp3.com. Once you have downloaded the songs save them in your computer and plug in your PSP.Then drag or copy and paste the songs to the PSP memory stick in the music file.
For pictures, choose the pictures that you want to transfer to your PSP and drag them to the memory stick in the picture file

Can pictures be downloaded from a computer to a psp

yah they can and its easy and take 2 mins. so just
  1. Insert a Memory Stick into the Memory Stick slot in the left side of the PSP. Depending on how many photos you want it to hold, you may need to get a larger one than the stick that came with your system.
  2. Turn on the PSP.
  3. Plug a USB cable into the back of the PSP and into your PC or Mac. The USB cable needs to have a Mini-B connector on one end (this plugs into the PSP), and a standard USB connector on the other (this plugs into the computer).
  4. Scroll to the "Settings" icon on the home menu of your PSP.
  5. Find the "USB Connection" icon in the "Settings" menu. Press the X button. Your PSP will display the words "USB Mode" and your PC or Mac will recognize it as a USB storage device.
  6. If there isn't one already, create a folder called "PSP" on the PSP Memory Stick -- it shows up as "Portable Storage Device" or something similar -- (you can use Windows Explorer on a PC, or Finder on a Mac).
  7. If there isn't one already, create a folder called "PHOTO" inside the "PSP" folder (on newer firmware versions, this folder may also be called "PICTURE").
  8. Drag and drop image files into the "PHOTO" or "PICTURE" folder just as you would save files in another folder on your computer.
  9. Disconnect your PSP by first clicking on "Safely Remove Hardware" on the bottom menu bar of a PC, or by "ejecting" the drive on the Mac (drag the icon into the trash). Then unplug the USB cable and press the circle button to return to the home menu.
Tips:
  1. You can view jpeg, tiff, gif, png and bmp files on a PSP with firmware version 2.00 or higher. If your machine has firmware version 1.5, you can only view jpeg files. (To find out what version your PSP has, follow the tutorial linked below.)
  2. With recent firmwares, you can create subfolders inside the "PHOTO" or "PICTURE" folder, but do not create subfolders within other subfolders. so just follow this and ur good to go! good luck!

Memory stick duo

Hi,
Well your memory stick can be used for many things, however its main feature is to save data, you can save the progress of any game. You can also save your fotos, videos, music, themes for your psp, and wallpaper.
To save files from your computer simpli connect your psp via usb and under settings select usb connection... your computer should detect your psp automatically and you will be able to save your files on the corresponding folder

get a memory stick duo of any Gigabyte size you want, Turn on the psp and insert the memory stick duo.Navigate to SETTINGS, under SETTINGS scroll to the SYSTEM SETTINGS and press the X buttom. system settings will appear, then scroll to the FORMAT MEMORY STICK and press the X buttom.
a message will appear and select yes, this will format the memory stick duo and create folders like MUSIC, VIDEO ,PICTURES etc. required by the psp.
restart the psp system and you are good to go. remember to save MP3 songs you want to play on your psp to the MUSIC Folder on the memory stick duo when you connect it to your computer in USB mode. if you want to play WMA format songs, navigate to system settings and select the ACTIVATE WINDOWS MEDIA AUDIO(WMA), make sure you are in a wireless hotspot to connect to the internet to activate WMA playback.

Problems after updating ver3.80

Possible solution:

You can try to have your memory stick content backed up to your computer local hard disk, and then do a format for the memory stick from your psp, as well as full reset, (should be found under the setting=>system setting menu) then, copy the backups back to your memory stick.

Give a try and let me know if it works
