Question about ASUS Eee PC 901 20G Notebook
I bought eee pc.from the day one when i am using the system it going into standby mode irregularly.i put the options in the control panel standby mode as never.but still it is giving the same problem
I have the same problem on my eee pc 901. I changed my OS from Xandros to Easy Peasy (Ubuntu), and still have the same problem. I updated the bios to the version 1703 and no luck.
Anybody figured out the root of this problem?

I would guarantee 98% that its your harddrive. I had a similar problem w/ one of my older computers. I installed a new harddrive and that fixed the problem.. Stay away from seagate hds, they are junk.

Unfortunately Xandros is a paid (yes, you have read correctly , PAID) Linux distro. You will have to pay to get a Live-USB to reinstall.
Instead you should go here
and follow the instructions to create your own PCLinuxOS (the one i use) Live-USB. You will need another pc for that. After booting from it all you're gonna have to do is to click on the Install icon on the desktop.

SOURCE: how do i reset a eee pc 901
To reset my 901 XP, I remove the battery as shown on page 3-3 of the instruction manual.
The reset button can now be accessed: it is a small shiny metal
plate, about 3mm by 15 mm located on the left of the battery compartment (closest to the LAN port).
Press the metal plate once with a ballpoint.
