Ink System Failure HP D7360 Photosmart

My printer keeps giving me the error 0xc18a0306. I have reinstalled all the ink cartidges and reset it 4 times. I don't have a control pad on the printer so I cannot access the support menu. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ok this is a critical issue with the printer and actually if the printer is in warranty the printer will be replaced as it is an issue with the printer and if it is out of warranty then sorry to say this problem hardly has any resolution opt for a trade in option with HP.....
Sorry this has no other resolution other than the reset that you have performed ,You can call up HP as well they will also say the same thing

download the v3400 for free in link above it is 9,5mb ( there is a other file dont use it only the service mode tool v3400 )

follow this instructions and you will be fine

http://www.2manuals.com/product_info.php?products_id=1445

- power OFF the printer bu Power button. Dont disconnect power cable

- connect the printer by USB cable to the PC.

- press and hold Resume button (red triangle in the red circle) and press Power button

- hold both buttons until power on indicator will light then release resume button (dont release Power button) and press Resume button 5 times

- release all buttons - the printer will blink few times with green light and will then light green constantly. You have put the printer in Service Mode now and you can now run the Service Tool. (If the printer is still blinking by green - you have some other errors in printer and you have to fix them first, because the Service Tool will not work if the printer is not put in service mode - green light is constant)

4. Run the Servicetools V3400.exe program.

5. Select the connected USB port number from USB PORT

6. In the Ink Absorber Counter section of the Service Tool, select MAIN from the Absorber pull-down menu.

7. From the Counter Value(%) pull-down menu, select the value (in 10% increments) which is the closest to the actual counter value confirmed before replacement of the logic board, and click SET.
Print EEPROM information to confirm that the value is properly set to the EEPROM

Error ink absorber full but it was cleaned and rinsed

Canons generally have four screws that hold the entire printer mechanism on the plastic base. Some models do have a power supply module that slides out of the rear of the case, remove this first. Remove the four screws holding the printer mechanism onto the lower case. Some models may have more screws, but becareful not to remove any other screws! It just lifts off.

Take the waste ink pads out and lay them down on some newspapers by the sink. Set the waste ink pads in the sink. Pour some of the cleaning mixture into them to dissolve the ink, then gently run hot water through to rinse it out. It will never look clean, don't try, just get it so there is little ink left in the wash water. It is a rather fragile felt-like substance so if you try too hard, you can end up destroying it.

Squeeze out as much water as you can. Do -not- twist it like a towel!

Reinstall the ink pads and reassemble your printer.

Once you've got the pad cleaned and the printer back together, you'll need to reset the counter or it won't print.

1. remove cartridges
2. unplug AC power
3. hold power button and plug AC power (keep holding power button.
4. press resume 4 times

Waste ink absorber is full

Hi Good day!!!
Two absorber pads are located on the right side of the printer, under the ink cartridges. With the printer on, lift the top to expose the cartridges. They will automatically move out of the way. You can move them to the left side by hand if the printer is not on. You will probably need a flashlight to see the pads. They each sit in a rubber retainer. The pads can be removed very easily and cleaned. Take the pads out of the retainers with tweezers. They clean up nicely with warm water but you can use something like Simple Green if they are stubborn. It is best to use a spray bottle (on stream) and blast it through the pad until it is white. Sometimes just putting it under a running faucet will do the trick. If there is ink in the rubber retainer after taking the pad out, it can be cleaned up with a paper towel. Put the pads back into the retainers and you have successfully cleaned the ink absorbers. Now you may have to reset the error message so you can get back to printing. This is how to do it.

Following is the procedure to reset the waste ink counter for the Canon Pixma MP150

1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding
the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a
service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the
function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in
orange and green, starting with orange.)note: press 4 times for waste ink counter reset.

The number of the Reset
button pressing
LED Function Remarks
0 time Green Power off
1 time Orange Service pattern print
2 times Green EEPROM print
3 times Orange EEPROM reset

5) Turn off the printer.( it must be turn off)
then turn it on again.

Wate ink pad full, need to know how to take it out and relpace it

You need to take apart the printer from the top of the print cartridge area. The waste ink pads are below the printhead (they are small rectangles of a rubbery material). (One is where the carriage stops during a cleaning cycle. Another keeps the ink from getting everywhere in the printer when you do an edge-to-edge picture) In some cases, you need to remove some screws to get the print cartidge carrier and print head out of your way.

Have lots of newspaper around to keep the ink from spreading. Pull out the pads and either replace them or blot most of the excess ink off. Then put them under running water until the water runs clean. Let them dry (use a blow dryer if you want to speed the process up). Also blot the excess ink from the plastic "trays" that the ink absorbers were sitting in. Then reinstall the pads and reassemble the printer.

Finally reset the printer's waste ink counter. To select something... Use the '-' and '+' buttons and then the "OK" button.
- To go back... Use the "Stop/Reset" button
- To reset... Use the "On/Off" button (only after you've gone back as far as possible it seems)

1. Service menu: Menu -> Scan -> Copy -> Scan (one at a time in sequence)
2. Select "TEST MODE"
3. Select "[8] ETC.."
4. Select "[4] EEPROM CLEAR"
5. Select "[1] INK COUNT"
6. Press the [OK] button.
7. Press the [Stop/Reset] button (returns you to the TEST MOD sub-menu))
8. press the [ON/OFF] button (which resets the printer)

On other Canon all-in-ones you press and hold Resume while pressing the Power button to enter the Service mode.

Please note that the counter is calculated to be reached near the end-of-life of the printer. Additional failures may occur soon.

I hope this helps.

E5 error

1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.

2) When the Power LED is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.

3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)

4) When the LED lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button 4 times.

The above will get you to Service Mode (and clear the Waste Ink Counter if you wish) and is supposed to work for MP160 also.
Caution if your waste ink pad is full you could overflow if ignored.

Try to replace your ink with a original ink not a refill ink.

C46 printer

I could not find the manual, but I hope this helps:
I'm not sure if the waste ink pads are in the same place as the c45, but i hope this helps.
Locating the waste ink pads was pretty easy. First of all you have to dissasemble the case, then remove the paper slot. To do this you have to unscrew three or four screws (at least in my c45) that keep the paper slot attached to the printer. After doing this you will see the ink pads, they are at the bottom back of the printer. Mine has four of them with an "L" alike shape.
Clean them with plain water, then let them dry a couple of hours until all the moisture is gone.
I advice you to remove both ink cartidges before doing this because an strange thing happened to me.
After removing the ink pads i cleaned the ink pad container (you'll see the little tube that drains the "waste" ink from the cartidges to the pads) then a couple of hours later i found that the container was full of ink!! confused1.gif . And of course, the ink cartidges were almost empty upset.gif
That happened because i didn't remove the ink cartidges before doing the whole process. I have no idea why that happened but probably by removing them you'll avoid that.

Epson resetter software can be found at http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml (the link to download it is located at the bottom of the page)
One last thing, to reset the waste ink counter you have to go to "Protection Counter" menu and then click "Reset Protection Counter".

You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Reset the system by holding down the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons down at the same time and turn the 3310 off. Keep holding the buttons down until the printer shuts off and the turn it back on. You will have to turn the printer off twice and then it will recalibrate. Make sure you have new cartiges in the printer so that it can reset.
