Had trouble with the magenta - no ink - after cleaning etc no luck, finally undid down to head and found the damper was leaking, so I now need a new one. Where do I get them from? and any other parts that I might need in future.

Very old question but not a hard job. Watch this video. :http://www.inkjetcarts.us/support/article/epson-pro-4000-7600-9600-ink-bay-csic-sensor-replacement-tutorial-video-115.html Or, in the field repair guide you can find the info to turn off the sensors. Google "disable ink sensor epson 4000", thats how I found it, I run all my off. DO NOT DO THIS unless you use the clear refill ink carts that let you see the ink level. NEVER let your printer head run dry.
The ink should come out of the cart. if not the cart is the problem at this point try anothere magenta if that does not shore it up then you need to then start looking at the print head where it goes it itself now the store you bought the ink from will give you a replacement no questions asked sometimes even if you dont got the reciept. Try those steps you be glad you did.
I have an Epson 4000 which I started using new in Sept 2004 and my magenta is clogged too. I've gone through 2 maintenance tanks trying to clear it, (and LOTS of ink), but the magenta is still blocked. I even tried this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NR8g4qUAJc trick but it didn't seem to work. I hope you have better luck.
