You can install and configure the wireless lan very easily,
First of all you require to download the driver for your Acer Travelmate 2410 by below mentioned link
Wireless LAN Driver (Approx 12 MB) when you download the driver simply right click and extract to the folder, now run the setup and it will install the wlan Drivers automatically, when the drivers are installed reboot the system once so they will run properly, now you will notice one new wireless icon in taskbar along with clock , simply click on the icon and it will show you all the available wireless networks in your area, click to choose your desired network (might require passkey if its secure) and you will be able to access internet/network with wireless connectivity feel free to contact us if you require more assistance, Regards,Bilal
Right click on the wireless LAN and then click Repair. Do this in the Control Panel - Network Connections. This will force the wireless LAN card to get a new TCP/IP address from your wireless router.
When you get this Limited connectivity message do a repair - this is a common problem - the wireless connection icon is also on your Task Bar, you can right click in it to do a repair.

Not sure I understand you what you mean. Let me recap: 1)Your LAN adaptor was working before you reloaded Windows XP Pro. 2)Now it’s not showing up in “Device Manager”. If this is the case, there must be some software driver missing. Make sure there are no other devices that have an error. Double check Dell’s website at www.support.dell.com and select "I'm looking for drivers and downloads". If you don't have the proper version of Adobe you will be prompted to install it. Once installed return to "drivers and downloads" and enter the "service tag", (serial number) of the laptop. Dell keeps a listing of drivers for every customer's computer they sell. hi gangesh click on the start button......connect to.....go to all connections......the choose your lan connection right click and go to properties........then make sure the bottom two boxes are checked...the one that says show icon in the notification are when connected......and the one that says notify me when me i have limited connectition.
this will give the icons in the tasbar.....
now if you want to put in a manual ip address ect...then in that properties page click on tcp/ip then click the properties button....
there put in your ip and subnet mask and gateway and dns.
hope that helps.
Plug in the LAN cable (CAT 5) into your laptop network jack. Make sure the other side is plug into the network outlet jack. Now confirm that you have a link on your LAN adapter, if your laptop has lights for the LAN adapter built in. If it doesn't don't worry. If its connected windows xp will say if its connected or not. If its connected it will try to find a IP address. Make sure DHCP is enabled (Should be set as DHCP as default anyways) if your laptop doesn't get and IP address then there's something wrong with the network your connected to and not your laptop. Contact the system administrator (IT guys) in charged of that network.
**** IF AND ONLY IF***
IF there's no network icon in the taskbar tray then your network adapter is disabled. To enable this right click the network icon on your desktop and select properties now a windows opens up and right click on your LAN adapter and select enable... let windows do its magic and you should be back to normal.
