I have tried the AC adaptor and the unit will not accept power or charge, also with the car adaptor the light on the adaptor indicates the adaptor works, however when I plug it into the GPS the light goes out and the GPS will still not turn on or accept charge. I have tried the reset and that does not work...the unit now has no battery power left and I am unable to turn it on at all.
Anyone know how to fix this or if it is even fixable, I have only had it for a year and a half. worked great before this.My Magellan Roadmate 2200T will not turn on or charge. I got a low battery signal and then nothing. How do I know if it is the unit or the charger?
Hi
The firmware needs to be updated .After updating the firmware reset it , if still it gives the same message then its definetly the issue with the battery and that needs to be replaced.
Please accept the solution and revert for further clarifications .
Thanks

As per the Magellan manual ; the battery in your Magellan RoadMate 2200T will stop charging when the ambient temperature is less than 32°F (0°C) or more than 113°F (45°C). I would suggest you not to replace the battery yourself. Please contact Magellan Technical Support for issues related to the battery. Also check the manual for any assitance.

The light on the charger is not supposed to go out and presents a a hardware issue in the gps, since it doesn't work at all or take any charge there is probably a shortcircuit or similiar that would require repairs and inspection. How is warranty? please use your warranty and contact the manufacturer or your dealer for repairs.
I suspect the battery is shorted. or there is a short inside the unit... have you tried charging it overnite ?
