Question about Leadtek WinFast PX6600 TD GeForce 6800, (256 MB) Graphic Card

256MB Video Card only picks up 32MB

Hi!

I am new at this game and would be very grateful for any assistance. I have just installed a new video card into my son’s computer, but it is only picking up
32MB of RAM.
The card in question is a Winfast GeForce 256MB Video Card. The installation and driver seem to be OK. However on the Nvidia control panel it is only reporting 32MB as being active.
Not sure if it the machine is running of the main board or not or how I can fix it to just pick up the new video card.
It is a HP 220 Computer-2.66MHZ-1G of memory.
Regards
Les

Hi there,

Yes it is possible to still plug-in an expansion video card. The 256MB limit is for the shared memory if you will be using your integrated Video Card. You can ignore it once you plug in the new video card.

Hope this helps.
