Sounds like the carriage is coming of the connector and that usually happens when the cariage travels to far and bumps the power head of the machine that split second **** is enough to unhook it fro the carriage because the next motion would be coming down and probably without the door attached to the connector , and by connector i mean the other half of the carriage Remedie ;; adjust the open door travel to not come up as high let it stop about 2 inches before the machine and that should fix-it , Thank you and hopefully i was able to help you please leave a good rating if i was able to help Sincerely Glenn Mayer ....mayer overhead door co,

  • There are a couple of plastic pieces that need to be removed now.
  • Now remove that third bolt on the assembly that is down a bit lower.
  • Unhook the connector to the headlight bulb.
  • Now slide the assembly forward enough to unhook the blinker bulb connector.
  • Now slide the assembly the rest of the way out.
  • The bulbs are located under one of two caps that screw out.
  • Reverse to install the new assembly.

  • Hope this helps.

Error 5100 what do i do???

Error 5100 points to a "carriage jam"
The carriage is the assembly that contains the print head and cartridges.
This error can be difficult to solve because various things can cause it.

Since this is a new printer, maybe there is some packing or packing tape that is obstructing the carriage.
Verify that the carts and print head are installed properly.

Check the gears as best you can for any obstructions.

If the carriage moves to a center position when you open the cover as if to change cartridges, try a reset to clear the error message :

1. Turn off printer (use button, don't unplug)

2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.

3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.

4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.

5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.

6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.

7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.

8. Your printer should respond as normal

Sometimes you have to try this a couple of times, if you've n

CONSTANTLY HAVE A CARRIAGE JAM.

Hello

Unplug the power cord of the printer and open the cover to reveal the carriage assembly.

Squeeze the two levers beneath the paper tray together to remove the tray.

Slide the carriage assembly from the left side of the printer to the middle where you have easy access to it. If the carriage assembly will not slide.

Push down the large black bar located directly above the rollers and then release it so that it springs back up. Now attempt to slide the carriage assembly to the right again. If it still does not slide.

Locate the flat black component found directly below the rollers in the tray compartment. It should be lying flat, parallel with the base of the printer. If it is pointing upward, push it down.

Slide the carriage assembly over to the right once all of the above parts are in their correct positions.

Lift the actuator arm, which is directly above the white and/or gray gear assembly at the left side of the printer. The actuator arm is thin strip of black plastic that is approximately 1 3/4 inches long and 1/3 inch wide. Lifting it and releasing it should restore it to its proper position.

Put the paper tray back in the printer. With the cover of the printer still open, plug in the power cord and turn on the printer.

Press and hold "Resume," then close the cover of the printer.

E 4

Hello Scott148,
Basically an "E4" Error Code means that the Carriage Assembly is locked, or stopped during operation. There is no Home Position Sensor for the carriage assembly. The Home Position is detected using the Carriage Encoder Sensorand Timing Belt, as the Printhead Assembly hits the rubber bumper on the left side of the carriage assembly. If blowing out the sensors has no effect, then the most common problem with an "E4" service condition on a "DFX-8500", is a bad/failing REAR COVER INTERLOCK SWITCH. After that, its usually a failing/bad Carriage Motor. The interlock switch is basically the safety shut-off switch for the Top Cover, located on the back left side of the printer, from the front. A metal arm/protrusion on the top cover, pushes in on the switchs lever when it closes. If the switch is going bad, then it cannot always tell that the top cover is closed. That switch shuts down the Carriage Assembly operation for safety reasons, when the top cover is opened. You can remove the wires connected to the switch and jump them with a paperclip, to bypass the switch for testing purposes only. Once bypassed, if the "E4" Code is gone, then you know that you need a new switch. If the "E4" is still there, then its of course possible that the Carriage Motor that drives the timing belt and printhead assembly is also going bad, but there's no easy way to test it, like a failing switch. At least you can eliminate the switch first as a possible problem...TECH NOTE: On any FATAL ERROR service error, if the printer is not shut off with-in 12 seconds, the power automatically shuts off for a minimum of 5 minutes. If you try to turn on the power at 4.5 seconds, it will just add another 5 minutes to the counter

Replaced the black cartridge with a new one but the 7130 still says the cart needs to be replaced. Heads look clean, cleaned contacts, tried unplugging and plugging back in.Need help

If the spring inside where the black ink goes gets out of position it can tear a hole inthe ribbon cable at the rear of the carriage assembly. Once it's torn you might as well replace the printer as the carriage costs more than a new machine would. The carriage also wears out so the cartridge isn't held to the contacts anymore.

Message 5100 check printer - what's the problem?

A 5100 error is a carriage jam error.that means some thing is jammed in the printer at some point, you need to search for piece of paper or item jammed in the assembly.the 5100 is the carriage error and can be caused by 4 different sensors. First off the "Timing Strip" that passes through the back of the Carriage Assembly can be contaminated with ink spots and this needs to be cleaned. Open the cover and use your flashlight to examine the timing strip as much as you can see. You really don't have much access to this strip unless you remove the covers,..and doing that is considerable work. The other items that can cause this error are the sensor inside the carriage unit, the drive motor for the carriage arm, and of course the main logic card. However, 99.6% of the time it is the Timing strip which is easily contaminated with splattered ink.
if the problem still persist then you can use a power blower to blow the carriage assembly and the rollers

Need to replace carriage on stanley sd450 opener how is it done?

Please make sure you don't have broken springs first and that the door is balanced properly. If so you can replace the "Trolly" by disconnecting the arm from the opener, undoing the opener from the bracket that mounts it to the wall. This usually takes a 1/2 in wrench. Then swing the opener out far enough to slide the trolly off and replace it with a new one. Re-connect everything then re-engage the trolly.
