On the back of the subwoofer remove all outside screws running the parameter of the metal back. You should do this with the speaker pointing down so the screws face upward. Once you've removed all the outside screws lay the speaker back in it's normal position and grap hold of the heatsink fins and give a slight twist to it to break the seal. That will loosen it from the back, and you can pull it out about 3 inches. Note: wires are still attached but that should give you enough access to get inside.

If necessary you can, clip the plastic tie wraps holding down the wires to gain more room inside. Be very careful not to clip any of the wires! Also, be sure to get replacement tie wraps to tie back the wires as they were originally. BTW, I have a typo in my first post above. It should read grab, not grap.

Hi, My friend left me his Z-2300 sub but lost the speakers that go along with the system. What speakers are the best replacement for the sub? which dont involve me soldering any wires!

I don't know which would be best but my recommendation to you is go shop around on the internet or in stores and find some good quality 2.0 (2 speakers without a subwoofer) computer speakers. If the speakers don't already have RCA connections it is easy to find a 3.5mm to RCA cable connector. Let me know if you want me to clarify that....audio lingo is very confusing sometimes!

I have my logitech z-2300 2.1 speakers hooked up to my imac but the sub doesn't hit near as hard as it did on my pc. have i hooked it up wrong?

Switching from pc to mac could have something to do with that. What i mean by that is the audio card inside the computer is most likely different. It could also have something to do with the equalizer settings on what ever program you are using. If it is a program with an EQ or equalizer setting try turning up 32, 64 and 125 on the EQ. hope this helps

One channel has no sound

One channel of the amplifier is burned out/damage. It is usually a package IC amp. Live with it or take it get repaired because the IC is hard to order. If you want to do it yourself, open the sub (big box and look for an ic attached to an aluminum heatsink. Look up the part number on the internet and see if you get any hits.

Very Quiet Subwoofer - amplifyer problem?

Hi there,
Yes, it is fixeable, but you can carefully check this,
1) open the SUB, and see if any cable is broke or loose in the negative and positive poles.
2) check if there a loose cable on the terminals point of attach speakers.
3) other than this is a defective AMP inside and mus be change.

Hooking up a Logitech Z-2300 subwoofer to a Yamaha RX-V392 receiv

This is the exact same setup im lookng at, just a different Yamaha receiver (RX-V663). Since the 3.5mm headphone jack and and the sub preout are both 'line level' you just need to pick up a male RCA to female 3.5mm jack converter from radioshack. I'd expect it to be around $5-8.

I have already stripped my old 5.1 HTIB system rca connector to use the surround speakers with my receiver. They work but are cheap speakers. Im tempted to do something similar with the z-2300 speakers, much higher quality, but I would definitely use a converter instead of stripping to keep them backwards compatible.

Z-2300 remote does not work

Fist plug it into something other then your computer like a walkman or mp3 player, cd player etc. If it does work then it is the original device (computer I am guessing) If it doesn't work it is the speakers. These models have lost of problems and this appears to be one of them. Some have a sub button on the back of the speaker with turns the sub off seperately.
