Does it power on showing power leds or not.if it does power on your video card could be bad.
try your video card in another pc if you can.

Not picking up video card, or rather losing communications. Use VGA port if available on you card, and make sure monitor is set to same connection port.

Black screen just after boot window from USB

Sounds like either the monitor or video card inside the computer is bad. Try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a friend, neighbor, relative or co-worker and plug it into the computer. If the borrowed monitor displays ok, then your original monitor is bad. If the borrowed monitor does the same thing and not show a display then your video card inside the computer is bad.

HP pavillion a6300f pc when powered on, the fans come on and can feel the hard drive spinning, however there is no video output; I took the pavillion to another pc monitor and same result, no video output....

Hi,
If it shows the bios on your screen.... Try to go the bios setting and make check the "default operation" and save upon exit.
Check the Motherboard, if there are swollen/bulging capacitor on the board, replace it.
If there are no bios whatsoever, sad to say, problem will be the board already......usually the bios chip that breaks down.
Try to use another power supply, sometimes the power supply is the culprit of the boards problem.
Hope that helps you out!

When I turn on my Dell XPS M1530 laptop, it shows a white screen that then fades slowly to gray and blue, instead of showing the bios. An external monitor shows the same. Anyone has had this issue and...

It seems you're having issues with the internal video card or motherboard. If you're not able to boot to bios it means your laptop didn't pass the POST (Power On Self Test). tried running the dell diagnostics.

here are the steps:

1. turn off the laptop.

2. while the laptop is off, press and hold down the FN key then press the power button. The dell diagnostics should come up. If nothing happens, you should call Dell to check more options.

Good luck,

Ryan

I have no display (black) showing on my lcd screen after window updates occured prior to or during shutdown process. when i tried to turn ON my pc, it's running but there is no display.

try checking it with an external monitor. if nothing comes up evem the acer bios, it would be the fault of the video card and you need a replacement for it. you can also try to boot to the OS CD and if nothing comes up, it would really point to a faulty video card.

Video signal

If it worked fine before the AGP card was removed then the problem is probably related to your BIOS settings. The BIOS setting that controls the integrated video may be set to OFF.
  1. Insert an AGP video card
  2. connect the monitor to the card
  3. boot to BIOS
  4. check settings
  5. turn ON integrated video
  6. save and exit BIOS
  7. shutdown
  8. Remove AGP card
  9. connect monitor to motherboard video port.
  10. Reboot.
