Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer

Open Question

57 Fan Error HP2600n How do I repair that?

I replaced the color toners and now get a message of "57 Fan error turn Off and turn On". I did that and the message stays. I see a small fan in the lower right. I turned it "gently" with a small screwdriver. I restarted the 2600 and it printed one page and stopped displaying the same 57 Fen error message. What's next?

Did the fan stay running? If not replace the fan.

HP tech support suggests cleaning the ink cartridge contacts and the contacts inside the printer for the cartridges. If this does not clear the problem, try replacing both cartridges (color and b/w) with new ones.

SOURCE: officejet d135 - "Supply Expired" error message

HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.

Feb 14, 2008 00:50:36 GMT Hi,

I have an HP 2420d printer, and I keep getting the following error message:

49.2F80 SERVICE ERROR

How can I fix this? It usually goes away when I turn it off and back on, but it's annoying to have to do it so often.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Remove it. razmat lighthouse.gif Feb 16, 2008 15:23:50 GMT Unassigned you could try to unplug from everything and just have it plugged by itself into the wall and maybe print some test pages to see if the error comes up at any of those points.then hook up via parallel and try to send some print jobs ,then hook via USB and send some print jobs and see if the error comes up at any of those points.this can can help narrow things down and point to the network or elsewhere.

like the previous poster said, sometimes something on the formatter can cause this issue, like a hard disk or network card, where removing these ,at least temporariliy to test can help.

if you have the internal network port(usually on the "n" model),then try a cold reset.if you have a hard disk you can also use a skip disk load option by holding the down arrow while powering on until all led's come on ,then use the arrows to scroll to "skip disk load".cold reset is similiar except, hold down the select(checkmark) button while powering on until all led's come on and the language option pops up on the display.then scroll to cold reset.

SOURCE: printer won't print error message remove and check right cartridg

Take out the power cable from the back of the printer keep on tapping the power button for 30 secs ; then plug it back.
Take out the catridges clean them with a Lint free cloth (copper contacts); also clean the catridge slot of the printer; put in back the catridges ;
Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer; press and hol down the (#) and the (6) button simultaneously with one hand and with the other hand put in back the power cable; and then release the (#) and (6) button;
It will perform a reset on the printer
IF still then it doesn't work then the catridge slot's copper contacts has gone bad and need to replace

Toshiba dvd recorder error code

According to:

image_icon_name.gifbassfisherman60

From the manual
02-57 Fan lock
This code is output when fan locking (over 30 seconds) is detected.
After the error message is displayed, the power turns off.

Perhaps opening the unit with the power unplugged (of course!) and clearing/cleaning the fan would help. It may be that the fan is just clogged with dust/debris.

I get an HP error message on 2600n printer saying "57 Fan Error". Is it fixable?

57 Fan Error
Turn off then on
The device has experienced a problem with its internal fan.
Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the device to initialize. The fan is not replaceable. Replace the engine.

57 service error message. Wht does that mean? We

A fan failure was detected.Printer fan or Duplex fan.
1. Check the fan’s connector and make sure the fan is not blocked.
2. Replace the fan.

On older style printers this is often caused by a bad main motor. (Older style printer being printers with halogen heating elements in the fuser - 4, 4+, 5, 4si, 5si, etc).

Merroy error 100.10.10

There isn't a known error of 100.10.10 on an HP2600n. The is an extremely rare 101.000 which is color plane registration but I'm guessing your not getting that.

I'm assuming your actually having one of the following:
10.0000, 10.0001, 10.0002, or 10.0003
10.1000, 10.1001, 10.1002, or 10.1003

These are supply errors (toner cartridge). The toner cartridges have a smart chip on them and if it's not reading correctly you can get one of the errors I mentioned above in the "10" errors. In that case look at the last number in the string to isolate it. "0"=Black, "1"'Cyan, "2" =Magenta, "3" = Yellow. Simply replace the identified cartridge.

We have seen a lot of refilled or self refilled cartridges that the supplier or user didn't put a new smart replacement chip on the cartridge, pulled the chip without replacing or actually put the wrong one on the cartridge. This would cause the "10" errors. In some rare cases a surge in power can knock out a chip on the cartridge.

Here's a photo of the chip on the black cartridge to help you locate it.

6aaf117.jpg
If you are getting a "10" error identify the last number to identify the color and replace the cartridge.

If you are ACTUALLY GETTING AN ERROR 100.10.10, contact HP as it is an undocumented error and likely only HP may be able to resolve it. I have even researched the error through Canon (they make they base machine for HP) and Canon has no record of this error either.

I hope this helps you. If so hit it with a FIXYA. Thanks.
