Picture or print it all comes out light and blurry.

Hi! You may want to try head cleaning to resolve the blurry prints. The smudge may be caused by a full waste ink pad. Try to replace the wastepad and it may resolve the problem. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Access printer software and perform "print head clean"

Change old ink cartridge and clean print head properly.

Some times you need to find the epson tools that comes on the CD to reset the printer. If you have upgraded the computer you may need to update your drivers at the epson sight.
Once you have opened the epson tools try cleaning the print heads.
then it should reset the inking system to default and read the new cartridges. If this doesn't work try shutting down the printer and removing the ink cartridges, restart the printer and allow it to find no cartridges the go through the process of reloading the ink cartridges again and cycle the printer.

If this doesn't work you may need to try and find a cleaning cartridge for the print heads. Since the printers always check to see if ink is getting to the print heads if there is no ink flow it will always come up like there are no ink cartridges installed.

Make sure paper is in properly they can be very picky about that.
Try turning it off wait three minutes and turn back on.
Then
Push Paper refill button Wait for cycle and see if paper light stays off if so...
Push the ink button

keep on printing the catridges will satrt function well after few prints if they have ink and heads are ok , if not take out cartridges shake them well chek head are leaving ink on a tissu paper if not place cartridges under runing water tap clean their heads and dry them with tissue paper and place them again nowi think they will work i

Look where the heads park when not printing, then make the heads go to center (cartridge changing procedure). Under the area where the heads park is a head cleaning pad that gets soaked with ink. Fish this pad out (wear rubber gloves) and squeeze the ink out as best you can. Try washing the ink out with soapy water, or use rubbing alcohol if the water won't touch it. Let dry, and reinstall as before. Run head cleaning process several times. Hope that helps.

Is it the ink cartridge contacts you already cleaned? If so, then you can also clean it using the tools menu from the printer panel:

-press setup menu, then go to tools
-select clean print cartridge and press ok
-it will print a test page. If the printout is good, you can try printing again.

I called Kodak and they are sending me a new printer head at no charge! Can't get any better then that. Man I talked to was very nice, knowledgeable and polite.

epson uses pigmented ink and compatibles use dyes and thus if the paper is not of good quality then you can have this problem.

do the following

change the paper and try.

As there will be ink in the head and the ink feed tubes , print some 10 -15 copies of all color prints so that the original ink starts to get into the head and then the paper.

this should solve your problem

Also use your printer every 2 -3 days if you dont have any prints then give a noozle check and then switch off the printer. This will avoid the printer from doing a head clean very time you switch on the printer and also the ink will give you more output as there is less amount of head cleaning

Try opening the printer properties and cleaning the print heads (should probably be done each time a cartridge is changed), it uses some ink up but should clean the build up from running the previous cartridge dry and hopefully solve your printing problem.
