When I turn the monitor off, then turn it back on, it is "on" for only 2 seconds (literally), then goes dark. When I turn it off, then back on, I get another 2 seconds - not even enough time to click the mouse. Please help!
SOURCE: monitor problem.
This just happened to me last night. My web research indicates that the monitor is bad...others have had the exact same problem.
SOURCE: monitor reads - "no vga signal". Thus, I have no picture. It just stopped working
hi there, check the system if it is ok, if so, check your video cable, you have a video problem. try to see if there is a cold solder on video section, do some test. ty

This is probably a back light problem. Take a bright flashlight and while the monitor is on, point it at the LCD and try different angles, etc. If you can see an image, it is the back light, probably the back light voltage converter unit in the lcd. It could also be the back light bulbs.
If you don't see an image with the flash light, then it could be the main logic board.

i just finished repairing a 20 inch acer monitor that had the same issue.... you have to take it apart and examine the power supply side of the monitor. there are capacitors that go bad on that board. you can tell be feeling the tops of them... the feel rounded. replace the capacitors and put it back together and it will work fine
