Sounds like relay chater might be a bad capastor out of spec near the relay i dont have the spec on this tv but some sanyo tv had that kind of sound and it is a bad capastor like 470u at 25 volts in them. Look for a bulg on the top of caps around relay area. Board marking are like c 601 this is not the right number for your set just to let you know sort of what you are looking for the c standing for capastor. Be sure to unplug tv before youtake it apart there is high voltage in the set even after you unplug it.the cap shuld be black or blue with a silver flat top even if they look good still can be bad cant tell untell you test them on a machine.

When you turn on the TV it makes this buzzing sound like something is spinning inside the TV. After a while the TV cut off on its own. It has a new bulb in it.

check the fan that cools the bulb. if its rubbing something that would make the buzzing sound, and if its not cooling the bulb it will shut off when it over heats.

My magnavox tv is making a buzzing sound, no picture, and wont change channels (just a dark screen)

Something has shorted in the set causing the power supply to make that buzzing sound. Most likely the short is in the horizontal circuit. The horizontal makes the high voltage work which in turn lights the picture tube.

Quasar 1989 tv makes a buzzing motor sound

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, if you have confirmed that the source of the buzzing sound is from inside the TV, then that would indicate a component about to fail or would need attention. Let us try process of elimination:
  • tuner - most unlikely, the tuner is responsible for selecting the channel. No component/part of the tuner could make such a mechanical buzzing sound;
  • speaker(s) - most unlikely, the speaker could have a buzz but generally would not affect the video nor cause snow (weak TV signals);
  • transformer - a strong possibility although without knowing the exact model, at most generic ideas; power transformer, flyback transformer, horizontal drive transformer (unlikely);
  • arcing - another strong possibility. This could be caused by damp, dusty surroundings of the components especially at the FBT area. Another area that could have adverse effect when dusty/damp would be the anode cap.
This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Buzzing after 1 hour

Is the buzzing coming from the back of the TV, staying loud even when the volume is turned all the way down, or is it coming from the speakers?
