Can't Remember where wires go.

I'm replacing my mother board in a Averatec 6200 series Laptop. But, I forgot where the Black and Grey Wires from the Monitor connect to the mother board. So. I'm trying to get that info.. via a schematic or photo. If you can Help that would be great as I'm so far, out of luck finding any info. on the subject. The mother Board is a Model MS-10041 Ver. 1 with an AMD Processor.

I have a wireless lan. The question was where do the grey and black wires from the monitor go on the mother board. I don't know how else to describe the problem I'm dealing with than that. Thanks For Trying but can you be a little more forthcoming with a solution. Thank You!!!

The ends are like the battery charger type that have a single post inside and are very small (ie.. approx. 1/16th of an inch). They are gold in color and connect seperately on the board but, I do remember they were approx. 1 inch apart somewhere near the middle of the board. I just can't find where. I assumed there would be a hollow post on the board but If there is I can't find it. I just can't believe I made a rookie mistake like this. Thanks For the help so far.

Probably these wire nowhere connected if you have no wireless lan adapter. Usually these two wires join to built-in antenna in screen.

Can you post some foto or picture of your connector on the wire in to this forum. If you have wireless lan you must to connect build antenna in screen on to wireless lan controller (your controller may be build on the moterboard or be connected wia micro-PCI slot)

What type join on the end of the wire?
These two wires go together or separately one from the other?

Averatec 6200 motherbord specifications ? Compatible procesor upgrade with SSE 2 thanks

The Averatec 6200 laptop was released in 2004 and is powered by an AMD Athlon XP-M 2400+ processor with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz . The motherboard of the Averatec 6200 is based on the SiS741 chipset. The laptop comes with 512 MB of RAM and a 60 GB hard drive . The laptop's display is a 15.4 inch, 1280 x 800 (WXGA) screen.

As for the processor upgrade, the Averatec 6200 is compatible with processors that support SSE2 2. SSE2 is an extension of the IA-32 architecture, based on the x86 instruction set. Therefore, only x86 processors can include SSE2. The AMD64 architecture supports the IA-32 as a compatibility mode and includes the SSE2 in its specification. This means virtually every modern Intel and AMD CPU supports SSE.

Averatec 6200 series laptop will not turn on. It worked just fine, is charged, but will not power on. Can you help? The green light is on on the power cord. I cannot open the disc drive because the...

You need to check that power is getting into the unit from your external power adapter.. It is not uncommon for the female power receptacle to disconnect from the board and have no power reach the computer.

If power is definitely getting into the unit, then the bios (computer's computer) has gone South. If so it is time to go shopping.

7100 cmos battery location

Hi!

Ok, what you really want here is a service manual for the 7100. That would show you how to pull apart the case in order to get to the mother board (which is where the cmos battery is located).

After a bit of searching, it's proving hard to find. This link might be the next best thing though:
http://fatpenguinblog.com/scott-rippee/averatec-6200-laptop-deconstruction/

It's a deconstruction guide for a 6200. It will be very similar to your 7100. A word of warning to be careful of course - laptops are assembled with a lot of small parts & many small screws..so take your time & make a note of any variations to the 6200 guide so you can reverse the steps when you're done with the battery.

Hope this helps!

Can not take a part my averatec 6200

There is no such manual as this is a dangerous self fix. Look for a generic OEM replacement on Ebay.
