Question about Maytag SkyBox MBV1976A Beverage Dispenser

Need overload relay wiring help

I have a Maytag Skybox that quit cooling. I see many people have bought 3'n'1s to fix there problem so I did just that and bought a SUPCO RC0410. I attempted to wire it in but was having problems so I searched the web and determined that the 3'n'1s aren't really the best thing for these newer compressors. So I ordered the Whirlpool 4387835 kit that is apparently the factory "replacement". I need to know where the wires go on this. I know the grey goes to the "protective device" and I know that the white goes to the relay but where on the relay do the blue and brown go (which side?). If anyone has a picture of there's installed or can take a picture of their unit with the original still installed I would really appreciate it. Heck, you could probably just tell me which wire is installed on the same side as the white and I can figure it out from there. My email address is corey_lubahn@fpl.com. Thanks for your help!

The brown and blue wires were connected to the white piece that was plugged onto the compressor terminals until I removed it (and then removed the wires from it). The other end of them go into the box with the PCB (on the right side looking at the back). I didn't try pulling the cover off of it to see exactly where they go. Would the capacitor be in there? I thought it was part of the white piece plugged onto the compressor terminals (which I assumed was a relay and capacitor in one). When I wired in the hard start kit (the 3'n'1) I ended up with no where to plug the blue and brown wires into, so that is what got me thinking in the first place. I suppose I should trace them under that cover on the right hand side (the PCB)...perhaps they do just go to the capacitor. If that is the case then that would explain why I didn't have somewhere to plug them into on the 3'n'1 since it has a capacitor internal.

can you tell me what the brown wire and the blue wire connect to? I'm thinking they go to a run capacitor if so then the one wire goes on the same side as the white and one on the opposite side it really doesnt matter which goes where. you can identify the capacitor as a little black box that is about 1 1/5" tall by about 2" wide and both of your wires will attach to the top of this.

the whirlpool part is the oem part and is the best part for your repair it should replace wire for wire and require very little instruction. the 3-n-1 will cause premature failure of the compressor and is not recommended. As far as I know there really isnt a service manual available for the skybox. It was a very limited production product that didnt stay available for very long. thnaks Peyton

Maytag Skybox not cooling

sounds like compressor relay --- if the fan and compressor come on and then shut off after about 5-10 seconds -- its the relay --- sometimes you have to also replace the transformer and capacitor on the opposite side of the unit --- all items are accesible from the back of the unit

For the soda name tags, I pulled logos off the internet and printed them the correct size on 20-pound paper. Different paper gives different translucence, so you might have to experiment to get the right amount of light coming through.
PS: thanks for the part no. on the relay
