I am about to buy one (Nikon F100)
Any thing I should no before hand- special problems? bad rep?

Wow!
You must love your F100 because you forgot to mention the lack of a
viewfinder blind *AND* the abysmal battery life. Other people report
different shortcomings but they seem to be in features I never use.
The F100 is a very fine camera, but like all cameras it has its faults.
Unrealistic praise does little or nothing to inform a potential buyer.
Indeed, there is a high risk that it will serve only to mislead.

The F100 is the best camera I own to date, I love it, and if I hat to pick
the F5 or F100 again
I would still pick the F100...
One point may be that you might want to get the MB15 grip / bat. pack, it's
very handy
and lets the camera shoot up to 5.0fps. I have owned my F100 for 2 years.

Arguably the best 35mm ever made. Mine has never let me down. Great feel
and ergonomics, super fast autofocus, nearly foolproof metering, super
rugged construction. Go for it!
