Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists,
effectively giving them a monopoly on repairs. According to their web
site, www.bose.com, they will repair most Wave radios for $100 or give
you $200 credit towards the purchase of a new set. Check your options
before you spend the big bucks though. A new HD radio, with better
sound and a MUCH lower price, might be a better choice than repair of a
problem prone Bose.
Bose does not release their parts lists or schematics, effectively
creating a monopoly for parts and repairs. In fact, their web site
says that the Bose factory is the only option for service or repair.
They used to list a flat rate repair charge on the web site, but
removed it - probably because it scared too many people. Their
troubleshooting guide (below) might help, but it's very simplistic.
Before you invest in expensive factory repair on one of these trouble
prone sets, you might want to investigate the new HD radios -- better
sound at a MUCH lower price.
PLUG IN YOUR HEAD PHONES IN - do you get sound ?
If you do Get sound from your headphones it could be that your speakers blown and would recommend Bose to take a look if still under worrentee.
if NOT You could still get it covered by domestic general
find them at this link
otherwise if you dont want to pay for a repair take a look yourself - get a screw driver open up the case as best as you can look at the speakers, you may well find that you have a dry joint or a cable could have come disconnected if so solder it back on and you've FIXED IT!
hope this helps.
if it does OR IT DON'T, please leave feedback Anyway
