Question about Hotpoint HSS25GFP Side by Side Refrigerator

No water coming out of dispenser

The ice maker is making ice, but no water coming out the dispenser. We have tried to use a hair dryer to blow hot air into line. Used a wire to push through the line & 120 lbs. of air pressure blew through lines as well as sucking & blowing through the lines. When you disconnect the line at the quick disconnect at the bottom of the door water will come out when you press the dispenser button, but wont come out when you have lines hooked up. Could it be a clogged line or solenoid?

I have the same problem except ours is making a low oohhing sound along with what I think is the fan speeding up and slowing down. Had a repair person out and they basically said there's nothing wrong. Of course it wasn't making the noise when they were here. It's driving me crazy, sometimes the tone

We have the exact same problem. Our ice maker is fine, but our water dispenser will not produce water. We tried an air compressor, sucking and blowing into the line, threading a wire up thru the line. All possible solutions we tried failed. If anyone knows how to get in the door to thaw the line, I would appreciate it.

How do you get the dust out of the back of the fridge so the compressor will stay on long enough?

My Maytag ice maker stopped working; ice on doors & draw; What do you think might be causing this?

As odd as this sounds, my Maytag MFX2570AEM stopped making ice. I could feel ice in the tray but it suddenly stopped ejecting or making more even when the bar was in the correct position.

I read many articles telling me the motor was dead, the gears for removing the ice from the tray needed to be replaced, etc. THEN, I read one person who responded that his issue was resolved with a HAIR DRYER. It turns out something about the unit had frozen due to water getting on it, etc.

Sure enough, after blowing a hair dryer into the ice maker for 5-7 minutes I replaced the ice maker drawer and in about a minute it ejected the ice and filled the trays with water again. It has been making ice ever since.

My Refrigerator makes ice but doesn't dispense water

The water reservoir is probably frozen. Remove the drawer second from the bottom and place a hair dryer on the shelf blowing on the coil of water line referred to as the water tank/reservoir. Let it blow hot air on it for 10 to 15 minutes. Try the water dispense. If the water flow is restored, set the fresh food section one setting COLDER to increase air circulation. Set the freezer to one setting to one setting warmer to circulate air that is a bit warmer. This corrects 90% of the issues related to water dispense.
The other 10% is normally the fault of the water valve.

Here is the water valve to order in case it is faulty.

Icemaker is making ice but the ice dispenser is not working

Check the ice storage container. The ice dispenser will not dispense ice until the first supply ice has dropped into the ice storage container.Remove excess ice from the back of the ice container. Make sure ice cubes are not jammed between the ice maker and the back of the ice container.

---------------------

The auger won't engage or turn to dispense ice.Remove the ice bucket and with a hair dryer warm up the inside where the fork is that turns the auger in the bucket and try it and if this does not help then you will have to replace the auger motor ,, chances are the motor is just froze up .--------

If there is nothing jammed then try this./Remove the ice bin out.And then clean the ice bin.

Rotate the auger with your hand.If its hard then there is problem with auger motor. If the auger is not rotating fine then its faulty auger motor or the auger motor is frozen,if you notice ice getting collected there.

---------------

Take a hair dryer and blow hot air on the auger motor for few minutes.Take care you dont blow hot air continuously.

But if that is not helping then disconnect auger motor connecting wire wait for 2 minutes clean the connector and reconnect the connector back and see.If that is not helping at all. Then, replace the auger motor.

Maytag sidebyside MSD2758DRW ice maker won't make ice

Hi,

If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.

On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice.

Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

Thanks

SIDE BY SIDE ICE MAKER MAKING ICE BUT NOT

Perhaps the dispenser have a, ice jam or it's clogged. Using a hair dryer, blow some hot air to the dispenser to see if the ice - if any- melts.

Water is not flowing to ice maker but flowes thru door. the ice maker is cycling as it should but with no water

I turned off the freezer for a little while, then used my hair dryer to blow hot air where the water flows in to the ice maker. In a few hours it was making ice again.

Water Dispenser not working

If the ice maker is working, and no water is coming out, the water line may be frozen.  This happened to me yesterday, and I followed the advice on ehow.com.  It worked like a charm! Take a hair dryer, and blow hot air up into the dispenser tube, holding the hair dryer about 8-10 inches away.  After about 5 minutes or so, a tiny chip of ice and a couple of drops may pop out.  Fill up a couple of glasses of water to flush it out, and you should be good!

Maytag ice2o won't make ice

theharrisont,  You state that...." ice maker stopped working after it flooded our kitchen floor."  The water works because the water fountain dispenser uses a separate part of the Water Valve. The ice maker portion of the water valve is defected and the entire Water Valve Assembly will have to be replaced.  Your problem is the dual Water Valve Assembly which is located on the rear bottom area of the refrigerator (follow the water inlet line from the wall to the refrigerator...the water inlet line connects to the Water Valve Assembly).  The significant info which you provided was that the ice maker flooded the kitchen which indicates the Water Valve Assembly is defected. Failure to replace the Water Valve Assembly will result in the same problem of flooding at some later date.  Replacing the dual Water Valve Assembly is just one step of several steps necessary to correct the problem.  You will also have to temporarily remove the ice maker from the freezer (usually a couple of screws hold it to the wall and a quick disconnect electrical plug) and put it in the sink and run warm water over to remove any ice.  Before you reinstall the ice maker you must check the Water Fill Tube that dumps the water into the ice maker.  Because you said that the ice maker flooded the kitchen, then the Water Fill Tube is probably filled solid with ice which must be removed.  A hair dryer is a quick way to achieve this.  Blow hot air directly into the end of the Water Fill Tube which dumps the water into the ice maker.  Note:  Use a long screw driver to insert into the Water Fill Tube to break loose any ice and continue to use the hair dryer to help to remove any ice. This should correct your problem
