I CANT FIND THE AUX INPUT SORCE ON MY KDC-MP435U CD PLAYER

WHERE IS TTHE SOURCE I HAVE IT PLUGGED IN?

  • dabookkeeper Apr 19, 2009

I have the same problem.  The manual states :

    in the standby mode.
    Built-in Auxiliary input Setting.
Set the built-in auxiliary input function.

    then it says:
    Display Setting
Aux off when selecting the source there's no auxiliary input
aux on when selecting the source there's auxiliary input

but none of this tells you how to access the aux once it is in standby mode. flipping through the src mode only shows usb, standby,cd,and tuner.
    no aux.
if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

You need to go into the menu and actually switch the aux to on. If you have your owners manual it will tell you how to turn it on. It is under the menu option "built in auxiliary input setting" If you do not have the manual i have a link to it for you. Hope this helps.

I put the radio in "stand by" mode and then hit the "menu" button, I used the big knob to scroll down to where it said AUX OFF, you simply push the knob to the right and it turns to AUX ON and thats it!. Now when you go through the sourcs button you'll see AUX.

I can't play my iphone on my kenwood KDC-MP435U

Jennifer, I have the same issue. the problem is that the 2007+ generations of Kenwood receivers are not compatible with the iPhone. You will need to get a 2009+ series in order to use your iPhone with the head unit. I had the same issue with the Kenwood KDC-MP435U in my mustang. I am going to get a newer head unit that supports the iPhone. You cannot do it with the MP435U.

Aux location

There is a RCA cable that comes off the back of the radio and also another cable for 3.5mm (mini-stereo jack) that also comes off the back of the radio. The RCA jacks can be used for "AUX" or "Sub-woofer" and the 3.5mm jack is just for "AUX". Your ipod can use the audio output jack or the headphone jack and plug that into the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the radio. You will need a "3.5mm male" to "3.5mm male" stereo cord that can be purchased at Radio Shack or Best Buy. Then you select "AUX" on the display with the source button to listen to it. You may need to go into the menu and activate the "AUX" input. Check your owners manual for details.
