Change your inlet valve, you can do it yourself. It is at the place where your water enters the machine. (Mains off the wall first)

Roper top loading washer RTW440VQ1 will not stop filling up

The pressure switch, also called the water level switch, is what control the amount of water goes in the machine, If your machine is constantly filling to the overflow point, then that is your problem. Now, if water is going in and the level is staying the same then your machine drain line is lower than the pump and your siphoning out the water as it goes in. Pull the drain up a little a that should fix the problem.

Roper washer keeps filling and wont stop unless i stop it

Possible that the water level sensor is not working - faulty - and so does not provide information to the controller unit to stop the inlet valve when the water level is reached. You need to drain and check on the level sensor , check if the diaphragm is damaged and so does not trigger the switch when the water pressure is reached.

My Roper washer won't change cycles & all it does it keep filling up with water

check the main drain hose with the unit off.
pull up the drain hose so it is level with the top of the machine but do not pull it out of the drain pipe.you should hear water draining out, once the water has stopped restart the wahser and see what happens it should fill up to the proper level and start working.

Sometimes washer keeps running water & doesnt fill up. i have to unplug it for a few hours so it can work again...has happened on all cycles...what causes tub not to fill with water

water is siphoning out the drain hose ,drain pipe not high enough "must be 36 inchs"from floor or hose is inserted in pipe to far creating a suction situation ~once over the edge it cant stop...., may need a anti siphon kit on drain hose .

Have a roper ax6245 - cold water will not shut off even with washer turned off - HELP

Hello,Sounds like a problem with either the inlet valve or the pressure switch, the way to determine which is bad... while the machine is filling pull the power plug..if the water keeps filling it's the inlet valve that is going to be bad..if it stops filling it's going to be the pressure switch. The pressure switch is located in the control panel and has a small rubber pipe attached.once you have figured which it is replace it good luck.
If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again..Mike

Roper washer stops at rinse circle

Turn off your water to the washer.
Remove the hoses from the valve at the rear of the washer and clean the trash out of the filter screen.
You have a cold fill rinse washer.
If it can't get water it stops advancing the timer.
