Chain slipped on makita 4030 - Makita UC4030A 16" Electric Chain Saw

chains that come loose that fast , and is not a cause of a weak bar bolt slipping , for sure is caused by improper oiling of chain and its overheating , heat makes metal expand so chain goes slack if it gets hot

.325 chain takes a 3/16 file 91 chain takes a 5/32 file Check with your mower shop where you get your chain from

My makita2012NB was also slip too. I tried to fix it out then I found if I screwed the screw under the rollers tighter it could reduce this problem.

HI , FIRST UNDO BOTH SIDE COVER BOLTS ON THE CHAIN COVER AFTER MAKING SURE THE CHAINBRAKE IS IN THE OFF POSITION,[BRAKE LEVER PULLED BACK].TAKE THE TWO NUTS OFF REMOVE THE COVER,LIFT THE BAR SLIGHTLY AND PUSH IT TO THE REAR.THAT WILL LOOSEN THE CHAIN SLIP THE CHAIN OFF THE BAR AND REMOVE THE BAR ,ONCE THE BAR IS OUT OF THE WAY ,YOU TAKE THE CHAIN OFF THE SPROCKET BEHIND THE CENTRIFICAL CLUTCH AND SLIP IT OUT AROUND THE BACK. AFTER CLEANING EVERY THING ,PUT IT ALL BACK THE SAME WAY .YOU WILL HAVE TO SCREW THE ADJUSTER BACKIN SO AS TO EASILY FIT THE BAR TO THE ADJUSTER PIN ,IT IS NOT DIFFICULT AND AS YOU SEE THE PARTS IT WILL FALL INTO PLACE

The IPL for the DCS510-18 can be found on this page: http://www.makita.ca/index2.php?event=tool&id=361&catid=40 Fuel line routing while pictured isn't clear. In the US of A these are red and called Dolmars. A local dealer may allow you to look at his shop manual if one exists. Sorry to not be helpful. Lou

Are you sure you do not have a tourque adjustment problem. If not I do not believe Makita will want to send you parts,you would have to know what is precisely wrong and by the time you went back and forth you might as well find nearest dealer for repairs and google search Makita.com for service parts near you + zip code to get your drill fixed.

Yes, but you have to have the same length/number of teeth, the same pitch and the same gauge chain as the original. If all those match against the original, you can use the chain, no matter what brand. Stick to a good chain brand though like Oregon or Carlton etc

with the electric makita you should make sure the bar is sitting on that oval slide piece on the saw. they should fit together so that the bar will sit flush against the clutch plate and saw. attach the cover with the nut and tighten just enough to hold the cover on. then turn the screw on the nose of the saw, next to the bar, and then tighten the nut the rest of the way. if there's slipping or the chain wont tighten you should inspect the bar to make sure it is sitting flush against the saw.
