SOURCE: Amana gas oven not working

The ignitor may be too weak to open the gas valve. If you have a volt/ohm meter capable of reading AMPS you can hook up to a ignitor wire and turn the oven ON. If you read less than 3.5 amps replace the ignitor. If 3.5 amps or more are read, replace the gas valve.

SOURCE: amana range model 770M door won't fully close

Is the door hitting the door lock hook. Or a strike pin hitting the inside door panel. If this is a self cleaning range the door seal is a metal mesh and does hold the door slightly away, this is normal. More info ?

Can't seem to access Hotpoint Stove Pilot Light?

Your range uses electronic ignition, not pilot lights. For surface burners the igniter sparks when the gas valve is turned to the "light" position. All burners should spark when any gas valve is in the light position. For the oven the ignitor is also electric but does not spark but rather heats up or glows. What is the problem with your range?

Surface ignitors dont work

The oven and burners have separate igniters. There may be a battery that needs to be replaced for the burner's igniter module.

Oven takes to long to lite

If the oven is taking longer to light the oven ignitor is starting to go bad. Even tho it is glowing orange the ignitor is not sending the correct volts to the oven control valve to open properly. Change the oven ignitor and you will be good to go. Not an expensive repair but always be careful when working with gas because the ignitor must be aligned with the burner correctly to avoid flashback. Hope this helps.

Kitchenaid gas oven very slow to start - can be 5 - 10 minutes before I hear it kick on. For a while I could get it to start by turning on a gas burner, but that is 100% effective. Any suggestions? Also...

Replace your ignitor, this is a very common problem. As the ignitor gets older, it gets weaker. When it gets weaker, it usually starts out by not giving good temps in the oven, then it starts to take longer and longer before it lights the oven burner, then it stops lighting the burner completely. A good ignitor heats up fast, allows the current to flow through to the gas valve, opens the gas valve and lights the oven burner within 30 to 50 seconds. When you order your ignitor ask if their is a cheaper generic ignitor for this model. Their can be a huge price difference in some units. You can also have a bad sensor, control board, gas valve, or wiring problem, however for the last 15 or so years every job I have done with your problem has been an ignitor. Burner ignitor will not turn off after the burner lights Viking

replace the electrode that's the wire or pilot tip, it has a sensor built in, when it gets hot it stops automatically. if the electrode is between the front and rear burners, there are small holes on the burners going down on the side of the burner facing the ignition. they need to be clean. try a paper clip and insert the clip in side the holes.
