Question about PC Desktops

I have an LG 60" Plasma TV Model Number RU-60PZ61 that will not power on or even go into standby mode. It has no lights on at all. Tested electrical outlet ok, made sure all connections were tight and seated. TV was subjected to temperatures approaching freezing recently due to ice storm in this area that had power out for three weeks.

There do not appear to be an external fuses on this particular plasma TV model.

That is probably a faulty power board.

That is probably a faulty power board, the unit must be disassembled, and tested by a technician.

If you have electronic repair experience you can test the capacitors on the power board, those are the components that fail most commonly.

There was no fuse on that TV, just resistors on power board.

The fuse is inside, very carefull inside there. Is it covered by warranty? if you got warranty use it.

If you don't have warranty start by checking the fuse on the powersupply.

A solid green light means the computer is operating normally.

A solid yellow:- the power is operating fine but your computer not processing data. This could mean there is a problem with the CPU or another component on the motherboard.

A blinking yellow light: power supply is receiving power from the wall, but not functioning properly. This generally means the power supply itself is bad and should be tested or replaced.

Hi elaineblackb ,
Try to do a power cycle and see if that will work.
  1. Turn off your computer and unplug it from the power outlet
  2. While unplug, press and hold the power button for 15 secs.
  3. Try to turn it back on.
Goodluck!

Hello have a problem with tv Model is: lg

http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=6281

The above link goes to lg's website describing the red flashing light where the power switch is, and

another switch down below which can turn that light off.

Try switching that other switch below off so the light turns off. Then, switch it back on.

If that doesn't work, then service should be scheduled for this discontinued model.

Hope this helps on your lg tv.

LG Flatron 1717S, sits in standby mode, screen black, green power light flashing, wont come on. Sometimes works as normal.and there is no LG customer care in place where I live.....pls help me

Take off the VGA cable from the Graphic card (on PC), do you see anything displayed? Something like SELF DIAGNOSTIC. If yes, there is something wrong with your Graphic Card. Open the case, check the connection to the slot, re-seating and clean it if necessary, do the same thing with the memory card.
Let's see the result n good luck

try safe mode on boot up and then change the resolution 60 800 X 600 pixels and work your way up from there until you get the problem again then back up one step (or figure out what is the max resolution of your plasma.

Every time i turn my lg plasma tv on the on light just flash's but the tv won't turn on

Hi Willydogg,

To my knowledge, if this occurs in a plasma TV, then it might be an issue with the board located at the base of the TV (where it governs color distributions and stuff like that). You might wanna call down the LG techie to come and change the board for you. Hope this helped.

My lg plasma tv model 42pc3d" just went black but still has sound....can you tell me if this is a common problems with lg tv....and what does it need to get fixed?

it is a common problem I deal with constantly, the main power board was overloaded there is most likely damage to the capacitors or a transformer on this board. you will need some service tech to take a look for you so he can identify the issue. hope this clear up what you need to do
