Universal Serial Bus can't read flash disk - Computers & Internet

    When I attach USB Flash,i can't see any device in my computer. But i can "safe remove it". WHat to do in that case?

Update the drivers sometimes thats all thats needed, or uninstall the flash disc and put into a different usb port

How to fix please insert disk into removable disk

First, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps: Click "Start" button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter". Click "Continue" if necessary.

In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.

for XP or earlier

Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working
ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

Check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts

error 43 is a usb universal serial bus controller problem
click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down

universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X
right click to reinstall drivers or

if you can see your usb drive but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver


for windows 7 you might try

First, please disconnect all USB devices. Then, go through the following steps:


1. Press "Ctrl + Esc" to open the "Start" menu.

2. Type "devmgmt.msc" in the Search bar and press "Enter". Click "Continue" if necessary.


3. In Device Manger, press Tab and use "Up" and "Down" to move the highlight to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers".

4. Press "Right" and expand it.


5. Press "Down" to move to the first item and press "Delete" to remove it.

6. Repeat the step 5 and uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers".


Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all controllers automatically.

My memory card is not detected by card reader .it says insert disk in drive i:.card is detected and read in nokia phone.


Click the right on my computer and select manage.
In this category select device manager, it will display user areas.
In the last select universal serial bus controllers and click the double on your device.
Select use this device at the bottom of the dialogue box.
