## Spacemaster. Bushnell or Bausch & Lomb, forget which. Great for astronmy
## too. Has good eye relief.

#Thanks. I just got the Cabella's catalog today and the Midway one last week,
#they both have Spacemasters.
Shooters aren't the only ones who use spotting scopes. Check out
various camera shops, too. Good mail order shops are B&H
(#), Adorama (#), and
Cameraworld.com (#). I purchased a Nikon Sky &
Earth 20x60 for $200 shipped from Adorama a couple weeks ago and I'm
extremely happy with it. It has very good eye relief, no distortion,
good edge-to-edge sharpness, very good resolution, and .22 holes at
100 yards is absolutely no problem. I looked through another person's
cheap Bushnell with a zoom eyepiece and he said he needed 36 power to
see .22 holes at 100 yards. The Bushnell had bad eye relief, bad
resolution, and a lot of distortion.

: I'm looking for the cheapest spotting scope that will allow me to easily see
: ..22 caliber holes at 100 yards under good lighting conditions.
At the low end - Bushnell, I compared one and a similar price range Simmons
against a far wall in the store. The decision to pay a few bucks more
for the Bushnell was a no-brainer. Also, some people cut out the backing
cardboard around the bull to make the little holes easier to see.

Just about anything with 20x magnification or more and 50 mm objective
should suit for this purpose. I have even used 10x binoculars when the
light was right, but the higher power makes it a good bit easier to
distinguish overlapping holes.
