I had connect the sr5400 to my computer by digital 6, set audio on auto. Connect BW speakers to left and right, thgreu a subwoofer of fidelety(pasive). Alsso connect a centre speaker. When the sound is full of action the reciever stops the sound and givers protection on his screen. I had the sound on -15db, far from the max. So far as i know, the digital signal is not adjustable to pull somthing down. Can you advice me to solve this problem.
thanks ahead, best reguards, marcel
The amplifier is being overdriven or components of the output stage are breaking down due to earlier overdriving.

If you try and unplug it at least 12 to 24 hours and it does the same thing, then its time to take it in to the shop.

Check the speakers impedance. it should be greater then 6ohm otherwise you overload the system. Also, if the speaker sytem is rated (in Watts) below the amplifier's power it overloads the amp at higher volumes.
