Sounds like the output section of the amp is toast. Especially if there was smoke involved.

Did you smell any smoke? Sounds like a short circuit took out the alternator. A good auto electrical shop can save you lots of heartache. Maybe just replace the alternator but if something took out the old one and kills the new one that could get expensive. Good shops know the tricks like wiring in a flasher that will allow testing without melting the rest of the wires. Good luck.

No side speakers

Make sure you test your wires and that they are running paralel, un wire and rewire, and make sure no speaker wire is exposed or touching.

I know it sounds dumb, but make sure the key is forward. Ive dorked out and did this a few times. Some decks have a red AND yellow wire coming out deck wire harness. Sometimes you have to hook just the red for power, sometimes just yellow, sometimes both, maybe check that out. And it cant be the ground, cuz if you missed the wire, it would ground when you hooked up the antenna. Oh ya, sometimes when playing around with wires, you mess up and pop the radio fuse. Check that. Cold be blown

sounds like you don't have power going to the red wire. should be a switched power source so it turns off with the key.

My saturn over heats only when i have the ac off

Check for a fuse that is blown first. Then look for a cooling fan relay.Check the relay to see if it will turn on the fan,by using a test light.Clip the end on the test light to a good ground, maybe the ground on the battery. While the car is running, pull the fan relay out just a little so you can touch the prongs on the relay with the test light pointed end. When you touch the right prong, the fan will come on.The test light is actually grounding the relay. This is the safe way to activate the relay without damaging the relay circuit. If the relay clicks, and the fan comes on,replace the coolant sensor. If the fan does not come on,and the relay clicks, then run a hot wire to the positive wire on the fan to see if it will work.If you don`t get the fan to run that way,and you are sure the fan is hooked up correctly, then replace the cooling fan.If you cannot get the relay to click, and the fan is good(because you have checked it)replace the relay. If I can help, let me know.

Not turning over

If you know how to use a 12volts test light, do this. Ground the light to a good ground. Touch the battery positive, it should light up. Now test the heavy + battery directly on the starter, it should light up;that's the heavy wire coming from the battery positive terminal. Now test the smaller wire on the solenoid which is directly on the starter for power while you have someone cranks the engine. If power, it sounds like a starter problem. Check all fuses with test light. Also the neutral must be considered if the first tests do not work. Keep me updated.

It sounds like you have a bad ground connection. You need to take the radio out and check all the connections. I bet you have a loose one somewhere. That is what the problem was with my bronco
