Cannot find DVB service on Panasonic TX-37LZD70

HI
I have never had a problem connecting my TV to the DVB freeview channels before but yesterday it lost all DVB service availability and for over 24hrs i have been unable to gain access to a digital TV signal. I Live near the sea front in Brighton and have read elsewhere that the signal can from time to time be lost, which in the past has happened but only for a few minutes at the most. Could someone help me as i'm not sure if there is a problem with the TV, the aerial which appears to be in perfect working order, the main TV antenna situated on the roof or even perhaps the signal given from the local TV mast. any ideas will be much appreciated.

SOURCE: UK TV History Freeview Channel

UKTV History now finishes at 18:00, when it is replaced by a new 'cheap-tacky-repeats' channel called 'DAVE'.  Worst thing Free-view has ever done in my mind.

SOURCE: Loss of Freeview channels

They are probably engineers working on your local digital transmitter or the wind has moved your ariel slightly.
This message is always to do with signal and is not a fault with the tv.

SOURCE: LG LCD TV 37LP1D digital freeview tuning problems

Hi - I have the same problem. Also in Cornwall LG were not interested in helping because the TV was 3 1/2 years old. There was a possible fix in the end offered via LG at a cost of £180 + vat - a hardware update that might or might not work but I was not going to pay that so I now watch my LG 42 plasma via a £25 digi box from the CO OP. LG must have sold 1000's of these Tv's so when the digital switch starts in the more populated areas of the country I exect many more web postings.

Does the tv model sylvania tvk191 have a qam tuner?

If the TV is sold in the UK, then yes it has a QAM tuner.

All TVs have to be able to pick up Freeview to legally be sold as a TV in the UK. Freeview is the public name for the DVB-T service which is our Digital Video Broadcast - Terrestrial service. DVB-T is just the standard definition channels. DVB-T2 is the version of Freeview that includes HD as well as SD channels. The QAMs are the way in which the signal is encoded. But it's really a level of detail that you don't need to go to. It's sufficient to know that the tuner is ether DVB-T for SD only, or DVB-T2 to pick up SD and HD.

Use HDMI from the DVD player and hook up the antenna to the TV..... or DB9 connector on TV.... DO NOT watch DVD from a D VD player or compost cable from the DVD it looks like junk. consult manuel how to hook up your TV

Does a samsung dv3 tv have freeview

Hi,

Yes, it does.

DV3 is actually DVB meaning Digital Video Broadcasting. The stylised design of the DVB symbol makes it look more like DV3. If the TV has the DVB symbol, then it has a digital tuner and can receive digital channels, i.e. Freeview.

If you need assistance with tuning the Freeview channels or have further questions, please let me know the model number of the TV. This can be found on a label on the back of the TV.

BElectric

I have an Alba 32880hdf freeview tv. I cannot record freeview programmes to my panasonic NV-FJ 780 vcr which has 2 scart sockets. I have no problem recording the teresteral channels. Can you help pls

Hi Victor,

You can't record the Freeview channels from the TV. It doesn't work that way. The reason you can still record terrestrial channels is because the VCR is still connected to your roof aerial with a co-axial cable and the VCR has its own built-in analogue tuner for recording terrestrial TV programmes.

To record the digital Freeview channels, you will either need to connect a separate Freeview set-top box to the VCR, or buy a VCR which has a built-in digital (DVB-T) tuner.

The VCR does not record programmes from the TV. It needs to be connected directly to the signal source, i.e. your aerial.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know.

BElectric

Every now and again it will switch from HDMI1 where i am watching SKY onto the DVB inbuilt freeview channel. If i press AV to switch straight back the OS menu doesnt appear and then after about 5 seconds...

Sorry - no solution as of yet but the EXACT same thing is happening to me. (TX-32LXD700). It has only just started happening - and also seems to have tied in with the Sky+ controller stuttering with the TV controls (eg volume) after it has been configured witht he 0051 Panasonic code. Did a "Shipping reset" on the TV last night and have repgrammed the controller with 0051. Don't know if this will cure thinbgs, but just hate not knowing WHY!?! (But will settle for the cure and not knowing if it comes to that).

Panasonic TX P50V10B Plasma TV

In order to get any of the Freesat channels, you need to connect a Satellite dish to your TV. If you have a Sky dish, you simply need to run an extra Cable from the LNB from the dish and connect to your socket on the back of your TV.
In order to get Freeview channels and Analogue channels, you need to connect a aerial to the back of the TV.
There is a menu option for the TV to start straight to the AV input (your Sky HD box). It is Menu > Setup > Other Settings > Power on Preference. Select 'AV' for your TV to start on Sky HD.
Also even if you have your TV to start on TV, when you turn on your Sky HD box, it should automatically switch to the Sky box.

Have retuned and have lost Channel 5 (we did have it before)! Newer tv in another room, does have it after retuning. Thank you

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.
