Question about Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL Router W/4 Port Switch, Retail Box (DSLSBEFSR41)
I want to configure my router, so it works properly. When I enter 192.168.1.1 in adress bar, it doesnt prompt user name/passwd screen. Instead it provides the list of different selection regarding the linksys router.
Try resetting the router by depressing and holding the reset button on the back for about 15 seconds. It might be that options were set and by resetting the router it puts it back to factory default settings.
Also, ensure you have the cable from the computer plugged into the correct port for the router. It should not be in the "uplink" portion of the router as this is intended for another router. To be safe, looking at a picture of your router, you'd want to use the "2" port and ensure the cable from your modem is going into the "WAN" port.
