it is a motherboard
1)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... That,......is a motherboard. Has GIGABIT LAN. 2)http://pro-clockers.com/motherboards/124... That,......is a motherboard. Has Gigabit LAN.........Giga = approximately 1 Billion. A Bit is considered to be a letter, number, or symbol. It is considered that it takes 8 Bits to make a Byte. Generally, it is considered that a Byte is a word. Makes a BIG difference if Byte is stated instead of Bit, or vice-versa. Hackintosh? You made it? Good thing I came along, huh?.............You never know. Could make a BIG difference. Could be the difference of a group of middle school boys talking about computers, but never learning correctly; so when they grow up they are still talking the same nonsense.............or could be they catch on that computer speak has to be concise for a reason. State Gigabyte for Gigabit in an equation, and you flunk final exams. Back to............want fries with that?
State AsRock and Gigabyte in the same sentence, and it is proposed that you mean a motherboard made from two different manufacturers. Which of course in this instance, is nonsense. I knew you were meaning to state AsRock H55M-S2H with Gigabit LAN; but needed to 'fish' you out, so I could properly explain. This is NOT an admonishment, this is a hand up...........Moving on............
1) The first thing to check is the Power Supply. Also if the computer is dirty inside, but I shouldn't have to state that to a Hackintosh owner. Computer geeks keep the inside of their computers -> CLEAN. (Yes. I am a computer geek, and wear the moniker proudly) If you have a Power Supply with a weak voltage rail, it won't have enough power to turn the CPU (processor) on..........Primer: A) If ALL of the LED's were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power. (Light Emtting Diode, so stating LED, and light in the same sentence is redundant)........B) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power........C) A typical CPU (processor) can use 51 to 130 Watts of power. Just depends on what processor it is...........This is why those simpy little LED's can light, and maybe fans spin; but there is NOT enough power to turn the Processor on..............."But the harddrive sounds like its activated?"..............No..........the Platters are just spinning inside, is all. No Processor running, No finding the Boot Record on the Harddrive........http://computer.howstuffworks.com/hard-d... ...........Have you checked the 3 main voltage rails of the Power Supply?.......3.3 Volts (DC)......5 Volts (DC)......12 Volts (DC)..........http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_po... .......http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnect... ........plugged into motherboard when testing..........(Two D cell flashlight batteries produce 3 Volts DC, in case you're worried about shock. The dangerous AC voltage is kept contained inside the metal case of the Power Supply) All you need is an economical multimeter. Around here the price ranges from $5 to $12. If this is not feasible for you, then how about using a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply; for a temporary test unit? ("I need to borrow the Power Supply out of your computer honey? What? Yeah, some guy named joecoolvette said it would work for a test unit. I'll put it back when I'm done. What? I'll loose some digits if I touch your computer? {lol!) Once the Power Supply is NOT deemed to be the fault (problem), then the diagnosis can go on.......Post back in a Comment with the results. Regards, joecoolvette

SOURCE: Asrock ALiveNF6G-VSTA Motherboard. Unable to boot to OS
first disconnect ALL cables except power suppliy and frond panel switch. Startup and see if goes further.
dont forget to disconnect the front panel usb cables also !!!
if it goes better, connect he keyboard, reboot and enter bios to see.
etc etc
if it still hungs up at the start with all cables disconnected then a major chip on your motherboard is burnt (maybe the disk controller).
sorry i dont think a solution oher than buying a new motherboard.

The downloads for your motherboard are here.
The drivers are at the top of the page and the bios updates are beneath those. Be sure to read the instructions for download and install carefully.
Good luck.
