You can just buy a new remote. Test it using the smartphone front camera trick. Or it is the television that has no signal, do a Power Reset. Pull the mains plug for 5 minutes. Press and hold the power button on the set for 1 minute. Plug back in. Also check the input leads on the back for whatever is supplying the signal, Cable, Satellite, OTA, then check the Source button on the remote.

Definitely sounds like a bad power supply. Especially if it's making any buzzing/hissing noises while it's flickering.

Cablevision is forcing people to having to buy Digital Cable Boxes with decoders in them.. On top of what you are already paying you have to pay lets say 2- 6$ per tv for a box per month.  Cablevision is doing this and charging more.  It's really to bad.

Better off getting the original remote.
I never seen a universal remote that really did a universal job.

The cheapest place I found a remote for you is Remotes.com
They have one for $27.94
Just put in "NSLCD37" has the search.
