SOURCE: Changing oil in a Ford 450 super duty motor home

Places that service motorhomes want to make the bigger bucks. Do it yourself. Its just a drain plug and filter removal. They have a large oil capacity but if you have changed oil before on other cars go ahead and do it. If it sits high enough off the ground you will not need to raise it. Get a good oil change pan that holds 8 quarts. It may take that much.

I would make sure all connections on your filter housing is tight..Make sure theres nothing disconnected far as vacuum lines..If you have had your oil changed lately,,check the two lines that hook right where the air filter is..The jiffy lube places,,love to leave them off..If all is good i would suspect the idle air control valve

Have the throttle sensor checked. Go to Auto Zone, or Advance Auto, and have them hookup the scanner. There is no charge for this. See if there are any codes present. Good luck.

That sounds like a pump... the oil pump is inside of the engine. You need to drop the oil pan to gain access - however, you will need to pull the motor to do that.

Can be that the oil pressure sensor has a loose connection at the terminal or that the pressure switch is faulty.
You will have to check this out, replace if faulty.
Hope the oil filter was also changed as you have not mentioned.

Engine light on

Have you checked the spark plugs since the light came on? you say that you belive they caused the light to come on? If this is true, are you sure that you spaced them properly? Proper spacing is crucial to making sure they fire correctly and every time. Also, are the correct wires put back in the correct firing order? If all this has been done correctly, take a look at the spark plugs. Do they still look new? Are they covered with oil or early signs of excessive corrosion? Appearences by any of these could point to problems with gaskets. Hope this helps.

Ford taurus engine oil light

In Australia, the oil pressure sender switches, depending on the car, cost as little as $15AU. Also depending on the car, they can be relatively easy to change, if you can get access. So even if a mechanic were to change it, I wouldn't think they would charge more than 30 mins of labour.

Yes this can cause smoking, the oil is coming up into air cleaner (you may need to change the air filter) through the crankcase breather, the solution drain out the excess oil, do this as soon as possible or you may damage the engine, the O2 sensors, and the Catalytic Converter.
