Question about Philips HTS-3555 System

1 Answer

Occasionally, when watching dvd, thru HDMI the picture clips out.

The unit seems to be not displaying some parts of the dvd. I can hear the sound continue, but it takes about 10 secs for the pics to come back. Then it may go out again. I have tried with may dvds.

What sometimes helps is when I lower the output resolution on the HDMI preferences. I have a TV that is full 1080p with several HDMI ports so I assume that it is not the ports.

Any clues?

Hai,
Yes you are right, this may occur due to display section problem, so please check the display section on your dvd player to resolve your issue.

Poor cable connections and or loss of digital signal will result in a loss of watchable/listenable programming.

"D.In" is probably trying to tell you the bitstream is corrupt or gone, but without a model number, that is just a guess on my part.

Issues Displaying picture from HDMI upconversion

I've posted this other places. Hope it helps.

My HT-S6100 had a similar problem with my DVD player and some times with my Cable/DVR box. The signal wasn't getting received at the TV. So, first I changed the input jacks my DVD and Cable box are plugged into on the receiver (e.g. from HDMI 1 & HDMI 3 to HDMI 2 & HDMI 4). Second, I reprogrammed the Input Assignments to match (e.g. HDMI in 2&4). Third, I deleted any Input Assignments that weren't applicable. For instance, I'm only using HDMI connections, but there were Digital and Component Input Assignments programmed in. When I say I deleted them, I actually set them to "----" (just scroll through the options and you'll find this.) Finally, I turn on my video/audio sources (PS3 in your case) and let them load/warm up before I turn on my Onkyo receiver. It seems to be working. Good luck.

DVD Does not work when using HDMI from Philips TV to Bravia

You could see if they will exchange just the unit and save both of you the hastle of checking and repackingit all. It does sound like the unit is faulty.
Or if your Bravia has more than one HDMI input then try on another, or a friends tv if you know some one with a HDMI tv in working order.

Audio function "Bypass" - problem

try to increse the volume centre channel level so that u could hear better vocals. or do one thing if u r connected with optical cable only. just connect single RCA cable from dvd players centre channel output to the TV input (Left/mono) so that u can only hear the center channel volume thru TV and all other from speakers even the LG is working..

DVD's won't play

I have a somewhat similar problem, but wasn't after a cleaning disk use. Most of the time when I try to use this system now, after I put a DVD in, I start getting a loud buzzing noise (almost as if gears are meshing)

Panasonic SC-Pt660

I think your problem could be that this Panasonic does not support "up-conversion". I believe that the HDMI is only for the DVD player output. Please put a DVD in and see if it plays on your TV. If it does, but the cable box does not play thru the HDMI, it is most likely that it is not supported. I alsop beleive that you do not have any HDMI inputs on the Panasonic, just an HDMI output. That would also indicate that the DVD player only is used for HDMI output.

You would need to connect the main unit's component output to the TV as well as the HDMI and use the component input of your TV for the cable box. I do not have a users manual fo rthis model, but I checked the service manual and it only ahows that the DVD player has output to the HDMI. Don't ask me why they would do it this way, it makes no sense to me.But that is what I seen in the schematics.

You could also try using this reset method, it could clear any errors you have, but would return the unit to the factory settings. You would then need to input all of your custom settings.

RESET PROCEDURE:

In STOP (no disc)
mode, press [STOP]
button on the main unit,
and [ 10] button on the
remote control unit.

Cancelled automatically
5 seconds later.

Let me know if this helps, or what you come up with.
Thanks,

Dave

No sound from tv

look for a hdmi input via the menu/ video /source button on the remote.[different manufactuers list them differently] if you have multiple input selections on the display, scroll thru each one, wait 2or3 seconds between each input and see if your picture comes on.also check the hdmi connection
