Question about KitchenAid Kitchen Ranges
I have an Electric 30" Kitchen Aid Superba free standing, purchased 2001 Model # YKESC307HT4 range/oven with Ceran top. Problem: I started self clean part way through self clean stopped and door will not open after cool down. The board must be good as it still iluminates and allows me to try and reset clean but will not start clean cycle. Upon retrying clean cycle I can hear the lock try to relock and 20 to 30 seconds later I can hear a click under the front panel (approximately under clock display), after the click a code of F5 E1 displays in the clock location, upon touching Cancel the code disappears. To add to the locked oven problem none of the elements turn on, all were working prior to setting self clean mode. I am looking to try and repair myself. I have all handtools and meter to check.
All help will be much appreciated.

same thing happened to me yesterday took all day to figure it out was the themal fuse on the back of the oven the part number for my kitchen aid is 8300802 if you want the doors to unlock and reset the display you can take the leads off the fuse touch them together and the door will unlock however it is best to change the part took me 5 minutes once i knew what to look for
you have to remove the back panel and you will see the part with the number on it cost me 50 dollars but better than the 8o bucks to have a sevice guy come and do it next time i self clean i will pull the stove away from the wall to help keep it from ver heating

Press the self-clean button. The panel becomes blank(---), then press
the up arrow( ^ ). The panel will appear 3:00 (indication for the
duration of self-cleaning). The oven will lock on its own and start the
This code means the control has detected a problem with the door latch switch. Switch is defective and needs replaced. Part # is W10107820 and cost is $39.99. You can get it at http://www3.sears.com/.
Before calling a repair shop,go to the circuit breaker box and turn off the power to the oven. then turn it back on and then see if the door is released and the error is cleared.
its probaly bent door latch or door sensor gone bad. try pushing on the door when you start the clean cycle see if that helps.
if not our suggestion would be to replace the part....
if you got insight into your problem from us , A very helpful rating is appreciated for answering your question

SOURCE: slef clean message E1 F5
You have one or two possibilities here, one is your control board is going out. The second is that the Latch to the door, or switch is failing causing the clean door message.
The cheapest fix would be to inspect the door latch and switch to make sure it is making solid contact.
A POSITIVE RATING WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIABLE.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
