Do you mean the CMOS battery? (The little round one on the motherboard?)
In this case, you can replace the battery with a standard CR2032 lithium battery (3 volt, 220mAH rating). You get that at Walgreens, Radio Shack etc.
For how to replace the battery, take look at page 9 of the manual.
If you don't have one, you can download it here.

If you are looking for another battery, just come back here and leave a comment. I will check back and be happy to help.

Just for clarification: the term "SR1220NX" refers to a Compac Desktop model, not a battery.
If you say that you don't have any power at all, you are probably facing a defective power supply.
If that is so, then it is very easy to replace.
Take a look at the guide here.
Before you work on the machine, make sure that the power chord is unplugged.
Look at the side of your old power supply to see the details to ensure that you replace it with a unit of equal or higher rating.

Here is an example for a 700W power supply:

Important is that you don't get a unit which has a lower rating.
If you installed any extra devices (hard drive, CD, DVD etc) you should go a little higher than what you have right now.
Plus, make sure that it has all connectors you need, especially SATA.

    Thanks for rating!

If you have any more questions, come back and let me know.

My FT60 wont work (nothing when turning power on) with the dry cell pack attached. Pack is fine with my other FT60 and

I just looked at the schematic and the only problem is likely the charging, or external power connection not connecting the battery when the plug is removed. A bit of De-Oxit spray may resolve the problem, or the connector itself may need to be repaired/replaced. This happens a lot with this type of connector.

I have a compaq nx7400 and the battery won't charge new battery and new charger.all it says is charging any ideas how to fix this

good day!
did you give it 24hrs to finish a charge?
the PC has a charging chip inside.
new battery from whom>?
the line pack is not a charger its line power pack,
it converts 120vac (or 240 outside usa) to 19vdc.(Or your spec)
the 19vdc runs the PC perfectly with no battery installed DOES IT>
that is the first test. the power pack must be the the correct pack
for:
voltage
current (never lower spec)
and watts.
if not the correct power pack it will now work correctly
the watts can be higher no problem,

if it runs ok on line power no battery
then we try the battery. (give it 24hrs for stubborn old batteries)
if the power pack is ok, it will charge, (spec pack as HP tells you)
if the battery is bad it will not.
if the charger chip in the PC is bad (MOBO BAD) then it will not

testing takes, skills and tools, one tool is a voltmeter
lacking that tool, one can only guess.
what not get your PC repaired by a TECH.???????

here is your HP page, its non trivial, no>?
see that they have 5 power packs used
that is BECAUSE they HAVE many power levels of CPU/GPU
faster rated CPU'GPU need more power.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-compaq-nx7400-notebook-pc/1847094/how-to

you never once said
it runs perfectly on AC power only
not once
nor it does not overheat. nor if the fan works and vents all are free of lent.

How do i fix charging problem in hp Compaq Presario laptop

that post is hard to read and no PC model told at all. Cq61?
the PC must run on AC power pack with no battery there.
does it?

99% of all cases like this the battery is bad.
you do know that most charges LIE to you when the battery is bad.
this is a fact, so savvy owner have a good spare battery.
not you so are stuck in a conundrum.
I will not go in to my 10 page thesis on why that happens
but lets so an analogy,
I look at my car and the tires look ok, but up close not.
the charge can not look inside any battery to see 1 cell is bad physically i some odd way.
there are only 3 causes.
1: wrong power pack AC mixed up with other PC etc and is wrong.
2: bad battery is 99% of all causes, for sure, even 1 year old abused
and that means running on battery all the time kills them dead fast.
ok https://batteryuniversity.com/ teaches why>?
3: bad charge chip and needs new mobo or $300 gee that cheap battery new looks like a great guess no? $15>? as does #1

"but the charger alone"?????
this i think means battery is gone???????? faIls?????
if true that means the AC power pack is bad or wrong.
the charger is a chip and is on the mopo not the power pack
the power pack is just that at AC to DC power supply pack
a key fact to learn, where things really are to diagnose real problems

learn to call it a power pack and seems yours is DOA./
all VRM and charge chips are on the mobo !
even shorted battery can cause the PC to go dead
as it overloads all power rails in he PC. (and common)

some PC ive seen , used, (wrong mix)
are sold with the wrong power pack ! the cheap one is low watts;
so seller do that BAD ACT.
PC that need 30w, 60watt or 90watt pack ,.must use the right pack.

that is because most PC have 5 CPU or 2 or 3 GPU choices new or 4 banks of faster RAM. called OPTION. new.
and burn lots of power, so the 95watt pack must be used.
or H3LL to pay for sure. and PCs run on the highest power watts pack in the series. of PC not told by you at all
no service tag data told so not waxing smarter possible.
