This is Toba from Nigeria en Engineer.

I was given this system to attend to.

the problem of this system is that when i switch it on, it will just display the white screen for 5 seconds and later dark screen for so long time, before attempting to load the operating system.

It can with Mac but i was told someone installed xp on it and can not find the sound and display driver.

You can hold down the option key while you start up the computer. It will give you a grey screen and give you choices of startup systems... Choose the Mac OS and see if the start up is quicker. Sounds like the windows xp setup isn't working properly. I'd think elimination of the existing pc partition on the hard drive while running in mac mode and then running Boot Camp according to apple's instructions. Boot camp is on the Leopard OS disc and will get your computer ready to instal windows xp with an authorized xp disc. After it's up and running in windows xp, you can reinsert the mac os disc while running windows and the drivers will be installed for you...it works great... Plus you can download a copy of apple's bonjuer software and it will help you set up your printers to work on your mac as well.... Good luck and let me know if you need more help... KEN

Load a driver for mac

Usual drivers are included in the OS installation. Special drivers can be installed using its own install pack. If the system refuses to open the pack ( beacuse it comes from an uncertified developper) then make sure to set the appropiate privacy settings by going to system preferences/ security and privacy.

2010 13" Macbook pro will do is screen saying "Enter your system lock PIN code to unlock this Mac

The Mac is locked and has it say you need a code to open, so if you know the person who gift you the Mac ask for the code if no the only remedy is to re-load the system but you will need the the copy of the O.S.

My mac powerbook is slow

Welcome to fixya, I am also a Mac user. There are a number of reasons that may cause a Mac computer running slow or freezing to boot up, but generally two factors: hardware part & system part. For hardware part: I guess it's OK if your Mac is not that old. For system part: there might be a lot of junk files, caches, registry errors... out there which largely slow down any Mac machines. about 80% slow Mac caused by this reason, if so, try cleaning the system.
