I have a wireless PC. My son has a desktop. I cannot open attachments to e-mails on my wireless computer. My son can. I have Yahoo. My son has Google. Is the problem my computer, or Yahoo?
Probably a software (i.e., Yahoo) problem. One way around this is to get Outlook Express configured on your PC for Yahoo Mail. Yahoo should have instructions for this. If you do this, you can go to Yahoo to delete any mail you don't want to keep. Then, when you open Outlook Express, any mail still in your Yahoo inbox will download to your PC. Outlook Express shows a paper clip where an attachment is present. You would double-click on the mail item to open it. The little window over the main window you just opened shows attachments. If the item is something you want to save, select File, and Save Attachments. Sometimes, on forwarded mail, you have to double-click on that little window to open that item, then save the attachments as above.
You said you THINK you have Adobe Acrobat on your Toshiba notebook. You can verify this by clicking the Start button, then clicking on All Programs. Adobe Acrobat Reader should be listed if you have it. If you DON'T have it, you can download a copy at www.Adobe.com, or you can download an alternative PDF reader such as Foxit PDF Reader from www.foxitsoftware.com. Both are free. (Foxit uses much less disk space).
Do you get an error message? What does it say?

I have a new Toshiba Satellite laptop with Microsoft Vista operating system. I bought it at Fry's Electronics. I think it has Adobe Acrobat on it. I am trying to open a pdf file (a form). I don't know what kind of security system I have--if I have one, it came with the laptop.
What type of attachments are you trying to open? Do you have the associated program to open the attachment? Example: .PDF files need Adobe Acrobat or an equivalent to open. Word docs need Mocrosoft Word, or OpenOffice Wordprocessor to open. What operating system are you using? What program ae you using to protect your computer (Norton Internet Security, TrendMicro, McAfee)? Post back please...
