Unit not working - don't know how to remove

We moved into this house about 8 yrs ago and it has a Thermasol steam bath generator in the basement and it is not working. I want to know how it is hooked into our plumbing system and what it does. It takes us a very long time to get hot water in our bathroom. Could this unit be the problem? Is it difficult to remove?

This unit is hooked into your plumbing system via a water line from either the hot or cold,...there will (should) be a shut-off valve to this steam unit that is either on or off,..it doesn't have to be off because the water doesn't run through it unless it is turned on. How it works is water runs into it, gets turned into steam and sent up to (i presume) your shower module. The reason for the long wait for hot water is that your hot water maker is a longway from your bathroom,...that water is traveling a long way to get to your bath,...common problem,....you can get whats called a "recirculating hot water line" installed,..simply another water pipe gets installed parallel to your existing hot water line, connect it into the existing hot line as close as you can get to your bathroom, put a little pump in line, and wah lah you have hot water circulating in that now "loop" so when you turn on tap, the hot water is closer,....removing the steem unit is easy but have a pro-electrician do it because these units are usually 220 volts and thats the one that'll kill ya if you touch it wrong, whereas 115 volts just makes ya jump.

I have an old thermasol steam unit 84 salvaged from a bath reno. there is a check valve on one pipe and a union fitting on the other. unfamiliar territory, how do i hook it up and what potential problems...

Check valve is the cold water inlet---valve keeps water from siphoning back out causing unit to boil dry. Probably is quite a bit of lime inside from "hard" water

TTMPL code showing on my Signature series control panel. ???

I have a Thermasol steam generator which had the error code TTMPL and it had to be replaced by the manufacturer. From memory, the error code might stand for "tank temperature monitor pressure low" or something similar. As an aside, the replacement generator just started to show the same error message -- so now I'm two for two -- and not entirely happy.
