Blue haze/fog all over screen

As it appears from the images that the images are fine. The sanyo PLV-Z2 is a LCD projector. So basically it projects 3 R G and B lights to make the screen. Yes it is definately not a LAMP issue. Either dust could have accumulated on the R and G panels thus leading to these prominent BLUE patches or if the LCD panels are damaged, u have to get the G or R replaced.. try running a application like Displaymate from "http://www.majorgeeks.com/DisplayMate_d4189.html" and see which of the panels is exactly responsible for the problem. I think this should sort it out.

MY PT-AE700U LCD PROJECTOR HAS A BLUE HAZE RUNNING VERTICALLY ON THE LEFT HALF OF THE PICTURE.

Open the upper cover remove screw back side of the projector
Remove LCD connector and clean with soft cloth and fix it again.
close the upper cover and then POWER ON if the problem exist then the blue LCD is faulty and need to be replaced.
(very carefully because the ribbon cables and connector of the LCD is very senstive)

Blue haze in top right of screen from NEC mt1075 projector

the light filter on the blue lcd panel is fried due to excessive dust and heat. clean out the projector with canned air. unfortunately, you cannot buy individual parts of the optical engine- you'll have to replace the whole thing. or live with it.

Images has a blue color across the center

Wow, 3 in a row. As described on 2 other projector issues this is very similar to those others. I'll repeat the info here.

I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.

This sounds like the LCD panel used for the blue color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the blue panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the red light in the image.

It looks like yours has just a secone of the panel dying or comming loose from it's connector.

It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.

Seeing a blue "haze" on presentations, and when on blank screen

On the "Option" menu, try selecting "Service" and the "Factory Reset". This may help. If not, you will have to use the menus to manually adjust the level of blue in the projectin. Go here for the manual for your Hitachi and you will find instructions:

Blue Haze on screen Sony cineza vpl-hs50 projector

I also have the same problem -- the fix is to replace the optical block ( Internal lamp engine ) which is a $1,100 part. I just purchased a used projector for half the price of the part.
