I lost all system sound. my sound card checks out ok and i reinstalled the driver. i get multiple errors, in addition to the svchost error. when i try to access the windows firewall it tells me the associated service is not running and to enable ICS. also, i cannot update my AV program or run windows updates. when i try to access the windows update page it redirects to google!? i can download and browse just find otherwise. also, system restore wil not function. i can pick a restore point but then nothing happens, it just sits there on the same screen. several AV scans have come up empty. there is no spyware found.

Turn off your computer and remove the cover. Ground yourself first and make sure no power plugs are still connected. Find your memory cards and remove them from the motherboard. Then reinsert them. Connect everything back and start the computer. If the problem still persists. Then your operating system is corrupted and you might have to re-install windows. I hope this helps.

I'm receiving 2 messages from my webroot internet security essent

This sounds like a virus to me? you say you are receiving that message, please, is it Windows "Telling" you?, or some program "Telling" you? please clarify? svchost, is not something that should be deleting anything...Both TCIP & netbt are VERY important part of Windows, so I do NOT think, it should be allowed.

Keep getting this message when i turn on my laptop

This sounds like a Spyware / Malware infection to me

you need to download a spyware/malware scanner/removal tool, which should fix this.

IMHO i use "spybot search and destroy" available from http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html
which has solved/protected me online for some time now

I hope this helps
