Unless you have sentimental attachment to that PC , you may want to look into upgrading.

All the spare part vendors want lots of money for a replacement.

Your best bet would be ebay. They have a couple listed for $13 to $34 + shipping.

Oh..that one is hard to do specially to novice. I would suggest not to do it. It would be hard for you to dismantle your laptop bit by bit and it is very risky. You might it end up damaging your laptop. Take it to a qualified technician to get it done. okay..:-)

Audio driver link needed

Hello rye2222, If your Toshiba has the Sigmatel Stac 9750TG audio chipset and Intel 855GM mainboard chipset, then try the link below to download the audio driver. Toshiba has no drivers on it's site for your notebook, but this is for another notebook that has the same chipsets. Hope it helps! Hal

There is a remote possibility that the cord connecting from the mainboard to the lcd has jumped of it's socket. It would mean opening the laptop, but worth the try.
If that is not the problem, you will need a new computer.

CPU Upgrade

You pulled the processor out of your laptop ... that was a brave move ... generally laptop boards are fully integrated so there is very few options on changing the processor ... also because of the extreme heating conditions the heat sink bonding is very critical ... make sure you replace this properly or you will have overheating issues in the future ...

Laptop wont power up with Battery Installed

When you don't have the laptop battery plugged in, the power routes directly to the mainboard of the laptop. When the battery IS plugged in, it reroutes to the battery, then the battery powers the mainboard and charges at the same time.

It's likely that the route between either the power board and the battery or the battery and the mainboard is broken somehow. To fix it, you would need it professional stripped down and some soldering may be required and perhaps new parts such as capacitors.

To get someone else to do this would prove quite expensive. Might be worth checking up on your laptop warranty or considering the worth of your current laptop against the cost of a new laptop.
