Question about Ulead Videostudio 8 for PC
Need to know a bit more information, try uninstalling using the ulead uninstall not with Windows add and remove.
When rebooted check in the Ulead - Ulead Studio 8 directory (if it is still there) and see if there are any files left, if so delete them. Reboot again and try a new install of the program

SOURCE: Problem in Capture
I don;t know if this is the solution to your problem but it might work, as it did for me.
When you start ULead Studio click on the capture tab, then click on the camera icon named "capture video", then in the middle of the page you will notice the "options" icon (looks like a cog) go to Input source and then at the top of the window you will see "input source" again, click the dropdown list and select "video composite". Try that and see what happens.

was looking for a fix to this problem after my dad had this problem
with no results on the net.
So eventually after about an hour or so of poking around i finally found a fix to the problem.
right click start then left click explore
go to program files then ulead video studio
click on the ulead program opening the files
scroll down untill you find the startup file EG: ulead.exe
will have the icon on it it is towards the end of the files
Right click on this file and then click properties then compatibility
then untick all boxes.
this resolved this problem on my dads pc.
Hope this helps

Ok, here is what is going on. The default video setting in control panel> scanners and cameras> syntek 1160 is pal-b it should be NTSC_M. Right click on the Syntek 1160 and click Video Decoder Property. Change it to NTSC_M from Pal. Do this with the unit plugged in or it wont be displayed in the Scanners/Cameras options box. Right away the signal line should rear 1 from 0 with video hooked up. Keeping that setting to stay is my issue right now. I was so excited to figure it out, I had to post. I was about ready to throw the unit away. Its a program driver error. Hope this helps!!!

I have just purchased and installed this device and software and was having the exact same problem as you. After a few hours of restarting and reinstalling things, I discovered that I did not have DirectX 9 installed. After I installed it (from the supplied EasyCap CD)the issue was resolved. I hope this fixes your problem too!
