Feeding more than one page at a time. How do I fix it?

1 Answer

Open the auto feeder, and inside you will see some rollers, and probably a rubber pad (on the top section ), the rubber pad (or separation pad) is responsible for keeping extra sheets from feeding you can rough this up gently with a little FINE grit sandpaper and/or just clean it with a moistened cloth (and dry) . It will be on a sort of pressure plate to apply pressure downward , you may try to apply a touch more pressure.

I have the same printer. My solution is never fill the paper tray completely full only about 3/4ths full and never let it get below about a quarter from empty either (I put in a bunch of already printed on pages for the bottom 1/4th of the stack and when those start to print I know its time to add more paper. You can have the tractor feeder replaced (that is the part that sucks up the sheets of paper from the stack) and that will fix your problem but the quote that I was given on mine to fix it was more that the printer was worth.

I'm getting ghost images on multi prints to the point it is unreadable, is this the drum or fuser?

The only way to tell is to start a print and power off when print is still inside. If you see the ghost before the fuser it's the drum, if clean before the fuser, it's the fuser. You can also open the back door and look at the fuser roller with a light, the fuser roller should be clean but if the roller has images it's time for a fuser.

Our copies are streaky like the drum is not clean.... help! There is black streaks on the top of all of our copies on our canon imagerunner 3300.

A) Black Streaks, Shadows, And Ghosting
Adjust the printer's lightness/darkness setting to 2-3 different variables and see if problem disappears. Look at the fusing assembly - is the roller torn or does it have any black buildup? Use caution!!! It gets HOT!

Try another toner also.

Ricoh 1027 ADF grabs multiple pages causing adf jam

you need to replace the lower of 3 rollers in the ADF (sep roller), for a temp fix you can clean this roller with wd40 as it will soften the rubber and get it to "grip". these rollers (lower of three) are always the first to go "bald on any mnf copier in the ADF and Drawers causing multiple feeding. they are used to allow one page at a time as they either turn backwards or offer torque (resistance) to lower pages

Printer keeps on feeding paper and prints illegible material -- if I turn off and on again it will continue feeding same --- how can I correct this problem which has occurred before and stops and resumes...

I assume you use windows XP and have you printer connected to you computer directly.
First turn off the printer, then go in your printers manager and pause the printer you have problem with it.
Delete all documents still in the printers queue. When deleted, put back on the printer, unpause the printer and print a test page (with the printer's property page on, you should have a test page button), if they dont delete, restart the computer, they shoul not be ther after rebooting.
If the test page goes well, maybe the document is corruped and need some fixing (some big picture do this problem on printers) check with other documents if they print well.
If it goes wrong again, do all the same thing again but beffore reprint, download and install the last version of the driver for you printer/OS.

Hp 1100 printer problem

Two possibilities, one the seperation pad is going bad so it's feeding the other paper too soon or the clutch is slipping. most likely the sep pad take a look doesit look really smooth and shiny? try cleaning with alcool or sanding with a very mild sandpaper to take away it's smoothness. Should work for awhile.

Cannot send more than 1 page

in case of double page-feeding, turn of the unit, open it, and release the page. open the back entrance of the printer, clean all feeding wheels with a dry rag. make sure there's nothing stuck between those wheels. make sure feeding tray is well located.
